Gran Caribe Real 2011 Brides

Recommended Posts

Hi Vanessa C! Ruth's Chris was the only restaurant we went out to bc there was so much food and drinks bw the Royal and Gran Caribe Real. They even have hooters in one of the malls.. and Starbucks.. and Coldstone.. and MAC makeup store! haha. I was so excited. The one mall also has an aquarium with dolphins that you can swim with. So much to do. I found a Cancun bar crawl for $65/person where they take you to 3 bars/clubs with no lines, cover, and all-inclusive drinks. I was considering taking our wedding party to that but we'll see. There's also cruises that include snorkeling or adventure parks with ziplining and swimming in cenotes. Oops. Sorry I went off topic from GCR/Royal wedding planning. Happy wedding planning ladies! We're working on mailing our invitations right now and my bridesmaids threw me a bridal shower couple weeks ago. Enjoy your time. And try not to stress like me! haha. The invitations are what's getting to me now. Bc I'm trying to go through each guest making sure I'm using their formal name and address and my family keeps adding people to send invitations to. Oh well. I just hope our invitations will get our guests excited. Ps, you ladies are awesome. This website has been so much of a help.

Hi all,

For those of you who have already gotten married, did y'all upgrade your room? We are booked at the GCR for a week but want to move to The Royal the day after our wedding. I'm doing the luxury package and it says you get a complimentary upgrade but I'm just wondering if we move to The Royal if that will apply?

HI! We stayed at the Royal and got our free upgrade to the "swim up suite" from originally booking at Royal Coner suite.............my cousin had originally booked a beachfront Walk out suite at GCR and was able to upgrade to the Royal the day she arrived for like $160 extra for the whole 5 days! and they got the very last room at the Royal that was available on the spot.........I am not sure if your upgrade would apply to the Royal..But my advice is, if you want to stay at the Royal after the wedding, make those accomodations now and dont wait until you are there and risk not having rooms available......and if you can get the swim up suites, the better lol

Thanks so much bride2b22! Another question: For Those of you with the luxury wedding package or who decided to add a musician during the ceremony, which did you pick? Also, what songs did they play? Cannon in D/normal wedding music? Did you have any say in the songs they played?

Hi SSantos...you mentioned that the waiters brought out balloons for your reception?  I was just told by my WC Claudy that balloons are not allowed as decorations.  I wanted to decorate the terrace with perfectly round balloons.  That seems very odd.  Thanks for your input!

Hi KernsWR:

Thank you so much for your reply. I'm so glad there is so much to do and so many options outside of the resort! :) Not sure if you've answered this before, but how was the food at the resort>?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
