I bought my dress! I loved it yesterday.. today I'm not sure... HELP....

Recommended Posts

Oh girls I'm so confuseddddddddddd, I was set to get destiny by Maggie Sottero (totally out of my budget, but loved the dress!) and yesterday I tried on SD5204 and put a deposit on it...

Last night while at home, I showed my FI several dresses online to see "his opinion" and when I showed him that dress he was like "it is nice".. I felt my heart brake in three million pieces!!!!!!!! please let me know what you thinkkkk, I'm so confuseddddd.

The bridal shop is placing the order today, but I could make it there before they place the order and have them change it for a different one.. I still cannot afford the destiny, but maybe something more original similar to that one.. HELP PLEASEEEE

This is the dress I put a deposit on yesterday (pic from Maggie's website:)

I think that you totally rock both dresses, but your first mistake was to expect a man to give you the response you're looking for lol. Don't be discouraged that he didn't jump up and say "OMG, that dress is beautiful, I can just picture you in it now!" Guys don't do that. When he sees you in the dress on your wedding day, different story.... then he'll love it :) I really don't think guys care about that, so you should pick the dress based on what you want. Good luck!

Eliana...my only piece of advice is to buy the one YOU love. My FI was the only one I had around to go shopping with me, so he saw me in all the dresses I tried on. The look on my face when I came out wearing the dress that I LOVED, was what sold him on the dress. He said it was an amazing dress, but I made it even better because of how I looked and felt in it.

We went through the same thing of browsing pictures online. He said "That's cool" when I showed him the dress online (even before I had the shop order it) and once it arrived and I got in it, we both knew it was the one. The glow you have in the dress, plus your hair and makeup being done, sparkling outside in the sun...it's going to be incredible!!!!!!

So if you love the dress, buy the dress...whichever one it is. Don't settle because you'll always be thinking about the one you really wanted. Your FI might have thought the dress looked nice, but your curves will rock the dress even better!!!

I think you can't go wrong with either dress!!! I do like the ivory color better though...if you want my opinion :-)

I love both dresses also! I dont think you will look back at your wedding day and think..I wish I got the more expensive dress. My FI asked me "what if I dont like your dress?" I told him that he better not tell me that and that I bought the dress because I love it! Also when you asked him if he liked the pictures of the dresses they do no justice for how it looks on you. I HATE my dress on the model.

I like both dresses, but Destiny really looks incredible on you. It fits you so well and just looks "right". How much out of budget is it? Can you get it replicated? I know that one of the older members (anacgarcia) had a dress very similar to that and she had it custom made. I don't know what she spent on it, but it might be something to check into. Plus alot of brides have had good experiences with dresses made from China on ebay.

My biggest advice is to buy the dress YOU (not your mom, bm, friends, sister, FI) love, b/c every one else will just be seeing it for the first time ON you at the wedding and they will be struck by how wonderful you look and the excitement of the day no matter what dress you chose. You on the other hand will be thinking about this dress daily until the wedding day! Make sure you don't "settle" for something that you don't love.

The destiny looks gorgeous on you...fits your body like a glove! I think you should just go with the one that you love and feel good in. Your FI is going to love you in any dress you wear ( and won't remember the online one). You don't want to spend the next few months regretting your decision and then being unhappy on your wedding day, it just won't be worth it in the end!

I love both dresses as well, the first one looks very destination like which is why I love it and the detail is amazing. The second one really does make you look like a bride, but I'm biased because thats the style that I like.

Go with what your gut tells you. Like above posts said everyone is going to think you look amazing in either one but make sure you're happy.

And about the chinese dress I ordered one from gianinarbridal on ebay and she did an amazing job with my replica of Maggie Sottero Amara Royal and it was all for under $200

Honestly, that Destiny looks AMAZING on you! It's VERY flattering and just gorgeous! I think you should maybe look into the knock offs? Then it might be in budget! :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
