Help! We have it down to our top 3 resorts... now what!!

Recommended Posts

Hey everyone, my fiance and I finally have our wedding location narrowed down to the final 3 but it's becoming a very tough decision. Everytime we feel close to a decision we read or see something that changes our mind again! So I would love some input from others in the same position as us. Our top three resorts right now are the Majestic Colonial, the Iberostar Bavaro or Ocean Blue and Sands - all in Punta Cana. Anyone have any thoughts? In the meantime I'm going to get back to plowing through all the other posts and reviews I can find!! Thanks in advance!

Each resort is going to probably have something you love + something you don't love, unfortunately. Maybe if you make a list of the top 3 priorities; things that you must have & that are very important to you to have on your wedding day. And then see which resort matches that.. or at least comes close.

Also, consider which resort will make the most beautiful backdrop for your wedding photos (I just had to say that since I'm a photographer wink.gif )

I wish you the best! Remember to have fun and enjoy each moment :)

When I came down to my top choices I went with the one that looked good and went with my gut. They will all have their positives and negatives so have alook at all of them and go with the one you can picture yourself at. Either one it'll be great.

You didn't say if price was a factor for you but it came down to price for us, basically. Majestic was definitely our top choice too but we could not justify asking our guests to pay in the high $1700s and $1800s for it. Second was Dreams, eliminated for the same reason. So we are going with the Grand Palladium, which offers much better prices. And actually, after I went over everything, I think it was probably the better choice for us and our families/friends after all, anyway...everything works out a certain way for a reason, as they say :)

Hi Aella! I am in the EXACT same boat as you and I feel like I just can't research enough to find my answer! I've also read SOOOO much that once you get there, nothing else matters but the people you're with, so I'm trying to keep that in mind. Can't wait to hear what you've chosen!!

Thanks for the advise richarsd on the price thing! I think for me, I just want as many people to go who can so I want to find the cheapest place for them and our family! I will keep what you said in mind.

Also thanks to Jerzshortstuff because I thought I could remember everything that I read but now I'm getting confused as to what I've read on each!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
