Hi Everyone! I'm new to the forum so I'm still trying to figure out how it works. We're getting married at Dreams Riviera Cancun on 1/22/2011! From what I've read from the other posts, things should turn out wonderfully. I'm just a little worried because the wedding coordinator takes a really long time to respond to my emails and doesn't seem to answer my questions. I'm sure everything will work out great and I know there is a ton of info on here that will help :)

Hi Jill,

I am also new to this site. I would like to book my wedding at dreams riviera cancun and was hoping you could tell me how to go about doing that? I don't want to book our trip until I have a wedding date verified with the resort? How do I get a date approvedwith the wedding coord?

Hi - I went through my Travel agent to get my date booked - I had to fill out a form for the DRC with credit card info and also had to send a copy of my credit card and driver's license. They i was sent a confirmation email from my travel agent. I went and did a site visit in December 2009 and met with Ana - my travel agent set that up as well.

If you go to the Dreams RC website and then click on the "Weddings and Honeymoons" tab, "Plan Your Wedding" and scroll down there is a link that says "Contact the wedding coordinator." Her name is Ana. I know when I booked for Jan 2011 a few months ago, there weren't very many dates available. I would try to be flexible and give her a range of dates. I asked for a couple specific dates initially and she told me they were unavailable but then didn't give me any other options around the same time. I ended up asking her what Saturdays or Sundays were available in January and February and then we were able to pick one. She will hold the date for you when you choose but you will need to pick a wedding package before you get your contract. I still don't have my contract but have chosen and told her it. I still sent out my STDs and have started the planning even without the contract since the date is being held. Don't worry if you don't get a response from her right away. She takes a little while to respond. Good luck!

I am working with a travel agent who does all the coordinating with the wedding planner - that may help you - i heard they work better with travel agents

Good luck in your planning
I contacted a TA to see about getting a group rate for the rooms but not for the coordinating....maybe that is a better way to go. Ana does take awhile to respond but from what I've read on here everyone has been happy with her. It does seem to help when asking questions to put them in numbered format so she can respond easier. What travel agent are you working with? I have a quote from Amex travel and waiting on a group rate from Apple Vacations.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
