Hey guys,

Hows everyones planning going?

Ive been having a nightmare with my AHR. I have ended up booking the local rugby club. £95 with room for 150 people so not too bad.

But i'm not too bothered about an AHR its more for pleasing the parents!!! But with my future husbands family issues of divorces and people not speaking! I can't really be bothered! Sounds bad i know. I eventually decided on a hog roast which has been booked. But still got to decide on DJ and if we are doing any decorations etc. Really struggling to get into the planning of it!!

Whats everyone else doing for an AHR.

Where as Mexico well the planning is exciting. Ive decided on my wedding location. Flowers for me and bridesmaid picked. The free breakfast in bed and brunch for the morning after picked and booked. So exciting.

Went to Cardiff on Monday to finish off what I need for the wedding!!!! Got my jewellery etc ..... Booked to try my dress on again for Sat as I have bought my underwear and I am not completely happy with it so I want to try it on with the dress as I have 28 days to take it back....... I am the same Kerry I am finding sorting out the AHR a chore but I am loving every minute of organising the wedding in Mexico..... If I could I think I wouldn't have the AHR to be honest its doing my head in a bit LOL...The cost isn't too bad we are having it in a local bar that has just been re-furbished and it is really lovely in there, they are not charging us for the hire and we don't have to pay to have it decorated as it is so nice already so that saves quite a bit.....  Can't believe how quickly time is going I got my hen in a fortnight!!!!!

Herbie - Are you back??? Dying to know how it all went..... Can't wait to read your review and have a look at your pics xxxx

I think it is Lynsey next???? Good luck x

Selina, You are sounding a lot more organised than me!!! I'm thinking of doing a sweet table for everyone. As its simple and easy to do. And im good at buying sweets. Trying to find a cheap DJ but nothing else than that entertainment wise. Haven't even thought of decorations. Really can't be bothered. It sounds awful. But it will definately need something. Table decorations or baloons or something.

SamCalv it is definately a chore. I would rather spend the money in Mexico!!!! But am pleased to be wearing my dress again. Any excuse!

Hi girls, WOW its been a while since i've been on, glad to see all your planning coming along nicely. It goes so fast so really enjoy that part. I still wish i was back in Mexico ;o( sooooo need a holiday. Been so busy the last few weeks!!

Question about the marriage cert. We had to pay $55 for the apostile stamp. We bought home the legal cert from Mexico that is in spanish they then sent our legal one for over here with the apostile stamp on it in 2 months and we paid £50 for it to be translated into English. I did hear it took up to 6 mths but ours arrived in 2mths so not to bad!

We were told the same about money but honestly dollars or pesos are fine! We were worried we couldn't use $ but EVERYTHING at our hotel was charged in $'s. We could settle at the reception using either so it will be fine. We took a mixture of both in the end but could have just took $'s really as paid for most with them :o)

Hope everyone is well... not long now for some of you :o) so exciting xxx

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
