Hello ladies :)

Really hope that you all doing well and you had a wonderful weekend! :)

Have been crazy weekend for us, so didn't even get chance to thank you all for congratulating us with our big day confirmation! :D Thank you all so much :D

We have decided to celebrate this occasion on Friday and have a lovely meal with some sparkling wine with my man :) And then busy weekend started next day with us looking after my SIL's kids all Saturday and trying to get her 40th birthday anniversary present too (which was a nightmare cos we couldn't find anything! :( ) but then last minute got her a lovely watch which she loved yay!!! :)

Anyway, back to the point, when we were out looking for the present, we went to Bluewater with my fiance and completely accidentally I noticed that "Oriental Pearl" (for those who don't know, it's a bridal dress shop there) has opened another shop on upper level dedicated completely to bridal accessories (tiaras, bracelets, hair stuff everything!) :D So thought I will let you guys know, so you can check it out next time you will decide to go to Bluewater :)

Unfortunately I wasn't able to check it out properly cos I was with my husband to be lol, and like any man he just wanted to get what we came there for and get out LOL :D but he promised we will come back next weekend yay, so I will let you ladies know then if I will see something good and maybe take some pictures ;)

Lyndsey - your shoes are fantastic!!! sooo beautiful!!! I was actually just looking at Dune shoes the other day and decided that if I wont find my "trendy hot pink" ones, I will go for one of those :D Fortunately I can get any heal size, the bigger the better cos i am 5foot 8 and my fiance is 6foot 2-3 LOL :D

Nicy - cake topper you got is sooo cute :D as our "big day" is some time away we are not sure yet, will we go for monogram cake topper or for one of those personalized cake figurines...but yours looks really nice, so maybe we will steal your idea if you won't mind ;D

waybulloo - I understand how you feel...my DIY skills are like non existing to be honest lol :D at some point last month I went a bit crazy and got to my head that I will DIY my wedding invitations (as there will be only about 17 of them)...but after many days of research and few attempts i just decided not to fool myself and order premade LOL :D  However, after finding this forum, you ladies have inspired me again and maybe I will try and make myself thank you cards and tags for my welcome bags (if I decide to do them :)) -...so maybe I will discover creative side of mine along the way LOL :)

And that reminds me, what kind of invitations did you all go for? I was thinking to get boarding pass invitations from Etsy...i know it is a little bit risky cos they are based in US, but thought I will try cos they are sooo pretty...

Im also doing zumba twice a week, gym, circuits, step.........and diet!! managed a weekend off the wine too!!

Hi, i'm also getting married at Sensatori on August 2nd 2011. How are you getting on with the planning? I'm having a bit of a mare at the moment my WC hasnt responded to any of my emails in over 2 weeks now and i'm getting really frustrated as i just want to get things sorted. Have you been given any deals? I have asked if us UK residents are entitled to anything as the Americans and Canadians get money off private events or free cocktail hour.

Someone asked about outside vendors fee, i've had to pay $500, but our resort has put that up to $800 for new contracts which is total madness!!

Nicy I love the cake topper :-)

I love oriental pearl. My daughters flowergirl dress is from there :o) cant wait for it to come in!

Sounds like you had a busy weekend

I didnt do invites for the wedding but we are DIYing our AHR invites. (to get them done was going to cost £350 so just thought to do them at home). Still an expense but helps getting the printing done at FI's work and putting them all together ourselves :o) that should be this week.  I like the idea of boarding passes though. I think you will be safe with Etsy :o)

Hi Herbie!

Don't worry too much about not hearing from your wc, mine has just changed so im guessing they are having some kind of shake up at head office..........from what i have gathered from the azul thread this has happened to a few of the girls so im sure you will hear soon - if its really getting to u though let me know and i will give you my wc email address and see if she can be of any help!

I have asked about discounts too, its so annoying hearing about all the free stuff and discounted group bookings the canadians and american's get but we are entitled to nothing! i have picked this up with thompson's but because its only them and thomas cook that book the hotel from this country they have complete control.  They are really mean not giving us anything esp when we have large numbers going over!! how many do you have in your group? I have 25 (1 child).

Plannning for me is going ok, i have requested the beach gazebo near pier for ceremony followed by zavas plaza for private reception. thank god for this site or i would not have know to request these prior to getting there! If you havent already requested i would recommend you do so as it takes a couple of weeks to get confirmed.

Im almost decided on my private meal............trying to please everyone takes some careful consideration!

I have decided just to have i-pod as music after meal as the fees for dj are ridiculous! and i think we will end up in the mojito lounge for a dance after anyway!!

I need to sort out decorations for table and also decide what to do with the gazebo.................any idea's??

And the other thing i need to do is research a day out/boat trip for our guests. I like the idea of hiring a catamaran for the day and going snorkelling but need to do some searching on the net and see if anyone has any recommendations for this...

How are you getting on with everything?

Also on a diet and exercise plan!! slimming world and lots of zumba and gym for me! i need to loose 2 stone by june..................ahhh! Good job i have stopped drinking! fingers crossed i can stay off it at the weekends!!

Have a good day, ceri x

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
