It's so nice to find a place like this with a lovely gals like you all for support and to share all this wonderful experience of planning the happiest day of our lives! :D

My fiance proposed to me in November last year and since then we started to plan our big day, we wanted to get married in October, however after looking through finances decided to move it to March 2012!

We are getting married in Dreams La Romana in DR, I personally never been there, but my fiance has been, so I trust him with it completely lol :) We booked it all just a couple of days ago, soooo exciting, we are leaving UK 29Feb and hopefully will be able to have our wedding on 6th of March. However I am still waiting for the TA to come back to me with confirmation. There will be only our closest friends and family there, but I am sure we will have tones of fun :D

Michelle, I have been reading this thread and it's soooo helpful, gave me sooo many more ideas that I even decided to make a list lol :D Although our big day is still a year away, i know that time will pass very quickly :))

xoxo

Girls just thought I will ask, what are you all doing about the shoes? Are you wearing high heals or flats? And where abouts are you getting yours from? Sorry for many questions, but I looked around and could't find nice ivory high heals (my dress is ivory)...:(  even started to think of going with the latest "trend" lol and wearing some nice bright pink shoes, cos they seem to be easiest to find and you can have some funky pictures taken after ceremony too :D

xoxo

Jo thanks so much for that, as at the mo we are debating on having our niece as a flower girl, only thing is we dont know if she is too young? She just turned 1 at xmas and she is walking but i dont know if she will understand etc? We will play it by ear i think, do you think 18 months is too young? But that is fab to know as if we go for it then i will have to take a basket or cone. Thanks again x

dunno, 18 months is pretty young, but depends how obedient she is! i suppose you can dress her up to be a flowergirl anyway, and if she doesn´t perform at least she´ll match you in the pictures.

i am so gutted now that it´s all over and you lot are still counting down. 14 weeks nic, you will be there in no time! can i stow-away in your case? Pleeeeease?????

going to bookmark that trip you said about, i think we´re all booking to go away to DR next jan for our 1st anniversary, should hopefully be about 10 of us. I´m making plans left right and centre, but we don´t even know where we´ll be living. it looks like we´re coming back to England. I can´t believe i struggled to plan that bloody wedding from Spain, when everything would have been so much easier if i was back home...... and NOW we decide to return! At least it´s giving me something to plan, most people start trying for a baby after they get hitched, but that particular shop is most definitely shut!

I couldn't find my dress on a link so ive posted picture of when I tried it on at when I picked it up a couple of weeks ago. I also could find ivory shoes that I liked so I had mine dyed the same colour as my bridesmaids.

So ladies after going Zumba last night, I thought i'd give the spin class another go tonight. Well my legs are like jelly, and it hurts to walk and i've got zumba again tomorrow night. God this better be worth it but after trying on my dress i felt i needed to loose some extra pounds, so im killing myself to do it!!dizzy.gif                                              dress.jpgdress 1.jpgdyed shoes.JPG

Welcome to the site Amurka!!  As everyone else has said this site is a bloomin godsend!!  I know I couldn't have coped without sharing ideas & letting off steam....lol....your dress is beautiful....love it!!

On the petal basket I brought mine the last time Debenhams had a sale....they've got cute little silk baskets or bags only £6 but they always have the 25% off of them when Debenhams do their sale,  I needed 3 & think they worked out about £4.50 each.

Nicy everytime I come on I keep forgetting to ask you again where you got your starfish bouquet jewellery from?  oh & thanks for posting the list again, I can't believe how quick it is all coming round, I can remember when us girls had a year to go!!  17 weeks today we fly & 18 weeks today will be drunk at our reception....hahahaha.....19 weeks today depressed its all over :( :( :( :(....lol

This is my dress:

Oh girls i LOVE all your dresses they are gorgeous!!! love.gif

Thanks for the tip on debenhams i will defo have a look in their for a bag.

Nicy i'd say the same as Jo. If she is a mellow 18mth old you'll get away with it but if she's in her tantrum throwing stage it might be hard work... what's her mum say about it? I think it will be quite cute though and at the end of the day if she's going to be there anyway why not? I'm glad Scarlett will be nearly 4 when we go but i'm still worried. But i'm sure it'll be alright on the night ;o)

Herbie - that is a right result. So glad it worked out for you. Know its a stress picking and booking.

I'm going for heels as we're not marrying on the beach. But i'm worrying about mine as they are little higher than i'd normally wear. I'm keeping them but gonna keep my eye open for the next few weeks see if some hot pink ones come up i like :o) Need to have them for my fitting...eekkkk!!

OMG when you say 17wks Nic it sounds like nothing. That is just so close!!

How's the hen's coming along girls? All sorted now?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
