Think we are going to pass on the disco though, and just all hang out at the bar - then maybe go when it opens at 11pm to all guests. Im also a bit stuck for favours, want to keep the cost down, think we may get a batch of love hearts and put them in the little organza bags for everyone, I may also buy something over there as a bit limited of how much we can pack! Also about the wedding certificate, they sort it over there - its 270$ to get it translated and legalised.

Wow - that sounds amazing - who have you booked your catamaran trip through? Where are you getting married? So far I have just bought some pink fans to place on each chair for the ceremony which will have monogram and date on but was thinking of the tequila glasses too - I like the idea of the love hearts and they shouldn't weigh too much either x

We have 32 including us, we worked it out to be about £950 which included 2 hours cruise / transport for us all to/from the marina and open bar. Ive heard on reviews that they decorate the boat with flowers etc for weddings so thought it would be something different, Its through Paradise Catamarans, they have a website.

We are traveling through Thomson and when I spoke to them regarding birth certificates last week as we have lost our originals she said we would need to take original copies which I have ordered through ips.gsi.gov.uk for about £10 each -she said they didn't need to be appositlized but to call back about a month before traveling

to see if the rules have changed xx

Hey Michelle, Glad you came over :-) Yes your definatly in wedding heaven here!!!

I only had the small birth certificates but had to pay the £10 each for full birth certificates as we were told they needed to state fathers name and occupation!!

WOW you have some numbers going with you... SOOOO jealous!!! Cant wait to see pic of Harrison x

Has anyone heard much about the hairdresser/make up artist at the Palace Mexico? As you can see I have very curly/frizzy hair and I am dreading having my hair done for the day - can't even find anyone who can do it nicely in the UK! LOL I will definitely be looking like Monica!

What is Phenergan? I have a 2 yr old traveling with us and I know she will be ok for about the first 20 mins - not sure about the other 10 hrs! LOL

I love this hair style... Only i would swap the flower for my comb and maybe a little higher due to the fact i have a veil and i want it underneath......

I believe the hairdresses at the RIU resorts are FAB :-)

that is a very good question! and i wish i knew the answer.... we didn´t even look into it cos we live in spain so assumed it would be fine as it is, but now we´re moving back to the sunny UK we will have to look at it. I'm friends with a girl on facebook who got married at my resort, so i'll fb her and see what she did!

Well going on what we can accept for legal & valid ID for name changes ( I work in a Building society) then spanish wedding certificates are perfectly valid and legal to accept. As far as im aware you can have it translated if you want to but is not important if you dont... Thats what im lead to believe anyway!!!! xox

Yeah we had a Civil service, I have updated my bank, work, and electro roll, doctors and stuff like that but I phoned about updating my passport and they wont accept the Spanish cert. Need to get it translated first which is annoying. You can register your marriage cert too. Iâ€ve not done any of this yet, I have 8 years left on my passport so wont be spending out on updating that for a bit, I havenâ€t tried to update my driving licence yet. Weâ€ve only been married a year next Friday lol, maybe I should get my ass in gear and get it sorted. These are sum links that should tell you what you need to do :o) xxHiya,

I haven´'t looked at the links yet, but will get round to it eventually! I´m not changing my name so i guess it doesn´t really matter that much, i just wondered about when i write my status down as being married on mortgage applications, child benefit applications etc. oh well i'll deal with it and let you all know!

Great that you got to go to the Palace on the cheap :-)

Thatnks for the info on the translated marrage cert, Interesting about the passport issue though!!!! I need to look into this as i think i have 3/4 years left on mine, but i will travel in maiden name til i have to change it... my sis did that for about 3 years after she was married!!! LOL x

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
