Aww Roo, so sorry your still not feeling 100%. So many ppl have the flu at the mo and just can't shake it off. Our house is still not back to normal and it's doing my head in! Really hope you feel better soon. I think i will get really bad wedding blues. I'm bad enough after a holiday and i've loved planning the wedding and having the hen etc to look forward to! So much going on at this time of your life your bound to feel a little 'lost' when it's all over. Our AHR is 2 weeks after Mexico and i'm sure after that i will be a wreck! Booo hoooo!

Mind you i got some nice undies today and just tried them on and they look like s**t! So depressing! so might save for a boob job after Mexico - give me something to look forward to :o) either that or we gotta book another holiday lol.....

Hi Ladies!

Sorry if this has already been asked but I am stressing myself out!  I am getting married in May in Mexico and I want to know what paperwork I need to bring with me to Mexico - I know the birth certificates need to be translated to Spainish - is there anything else and does anyone know how much this costs???  This is a first wedding for both of us.

Also we booked our holiday through First Choice so are flying with Thomsons - does anyone know how they are going to transport their dress?  I want to take it with me as hand luggage but I don't want to fold it up into a box!!!

Any help will be great - I feel so behind and I need to get my arse into gear!!

Thanks

Hi Claire, check with your WC at your hotel about the birth certs as all hotels are different. It is also mine and my FI's first marriage and we dont need to get our birth certs apostiled stamped, our wedding co said we dont even need to take them. All we need is our passports and visa card which you get at cancun airport. If you do need to do this it can be done at the foriegn commonwealth offices if you google it.

With regard to the dress. I dont think the airlines will allow you to bring your dress onto the aircraft hanging up. I think you will need to have it packed. I am going to get one of those wedding dress travel boxes from ebay like some of the other girls are doing and my bridal shop is going to pack it for me. They use the special tissue that stops it from creasing so much. I'm sure most hotels also offer a steam service for the bridal wear.

Good luck x

You definately canot hang up your dress on board they sent me a letter advising to either put it in a seperate suitcase which will go in the hold as you get an extra 5kg luggage alllowance but mark it fragile or take it as hand luggage but would need to be in a box or in a hand luggage case.

Lucky enough my dress came in a box which fulfils their requirement and it doesnt crease - this is my hand luggage - now FI had to look after passports and tickets etc that I usually have to look after!!!

Hi Ladies

Jo:  i can't believe that you leave on FRIDAY, you must be sooooo excited x

Lyndsey:  your ring is gorgeous i love it xx

Well ladies just to update you on my wedding progress.  Now we're staying here i'm able to look at different style wedding dresses so I went out with 2 of my bridesmaids on Saturday to the shop where I saw a dress that I tried on previously and loved (Michelle by Maggie Sottero), i wanted to see if i still loved it and i do but then I found another one completely different style that i also love cry.gif  (a Mori Lee) I'm booked into 3 more wedding shops over the next couple of months so i might see another dress that I love even more hahahaha, i could try on dresses every day.

We've changed our colour scheme to Purple and White, we will be having different shades of purple, the flower girls will be in lilac and the bridesmaids in a more darker vibrant purple.  I've seen the flower girl dresses (£25 on ebay including delivery) and i've ordered one just to see what the quality and fabric is like.  I'll post a picture.

One of my bridesmaids is the manager at Dulwich Golf Club and she has said i can have the hire of the venue for free for my sit down meal and reception, which is a big cost i don't have to pay out for. I've just got to pay for the catering so I met with the chef yesterday and told him what we wanted and he's going to give me a quote, this will be our biggest expense so i'm keen to see what figure he comes up with.  When I was there they had it set up for an evening party and that helped me visualise how it could look for the wedding and got me all excited.

Me and FI have got an appointment to go and see the vicar of a Church near us on 23rd, it is a Church of England and has beautiful gardens for the photographs (if it's not raining), we are going to have to start attending service every Sunday so no more late Saturday's for me, but it will be worth it.

oooooh I nearly forgot we've chosen our wedding date  Saturday 30th June 2012 cheer2.gif

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
