We have also started picking our wedding songs so far we like Arioso bach to walk down the aisle, for signing the register I like At last by Beyonce (as we have been together 12 yrs and at last we are getting married lol), for first dance we like First Time by Stereophonics, for walking back up the aisle after we are married we like Somewhere over the rainbow by Israel Kamakawiwo'ole don't know if any of you have heard his version but it is fab, we have one more to pick for Natasha to walk down still in discussion with that one.....

I haven't pick a colour scheme yet, thinking of red at the moment..... Got to decide soon as I have to get Natasha's dress Easter week....  Sorted out Calv's and Josh's suits going to order stone coloured light weight ones.....

People are getting pretty excited now eh. We have got another year and a half to wait as we are waiting for the prices to come out for Oct 2012 (the royal cancun).

Would like to know what people are doing when they get back to the UK, reception/ party ideas????????

We are finding that its gona cost us another £2500 just to have a night reception with buffet and band/dj for the night!!!!!

Sam - at last was one we liked to as by the time we marry would have been together 9yrs, lol.. either that or 'finally' hee hee ;o) i'm walking down the aisle to eva cassidy songbird. LOVE IT !!!!!

Mel - yes the at home receptions do add up. Ours is just under £3000 for the hotel and buffett and then £425 for the singers and i think we are also going to hire a card magicial guy we see the other week at a christening, just for a couple of hours at the start of it so that's £150 he just goes round showing amazing card tricks to ppl which is a nice ice breaker i think. Just glad we dont have to buy the cake on top of that as my dad/sister is doing that :o)..it can be done cheaper though. Just depends what you want really :o) x

Scarlett tried her dress on again today for my mum to see and OMG i could have cried, she just looks so beautiful and she said 'nanny, harry is going to be my prince and dance with me, and mummy and daddy are gonna dance together, cos mummy is a princess and daddy is her prince' ........OMG filling up crybaby2.giflol xx

VERY VERY excited :-)

Gosh, it seems like 5 mins ago when i was in your position :-) May 2011 seemed like a million years away......

We have hired out our local football club which has cost £17 (for a yearly membership) and a £25 deposit, which we get back at the end of the night!!! OK so its not a nice big posh hotel or venue but it has tables and chairs and cheap drinks. I will take over balloons to decorate the tables, which have cost me a few quid on ebay..... Dont get me wrong i would LOVE to hire out a big nice venue but we just can not afford it, and to be honest at least i get my fam and friends together, so im happy :-) xx

Michelle - Songbird by Eva Cassidy is soooo beautiful the words are lovely cheesy.gif

Thanks Nicy the boxes look lovely are they big enough to put the dresses in?????

For our AHR they aren't charging us for the room but the food is about £10 per head and we are looking at about 100-120 people coming, cake is about £200 and the DJ is £300, Crikey just realised it's nearly £2k!!!!!! I thought I was having a bargain!!!!! LOL

I know i love them...

Yes the dresses go in the box. Mine is a big dress and the bride shop have assured me that it will fit in a hand luggage size box :o)

The AHR's do add up. When we originally got a quote it was £500 to hire out the restaurant (which is what we are having with tables removed as its a prettier room than the function room) when we went to book they had repainted it and put the hire charge up to £1800!!! So after a moan and nag i got it for £1000. We have also gone for the cheapest buffet which is £11.95 per head. With 150 ppl it does add up!!! We wanted to put some money behind the bar but we just havn't got the money. Although i think my mum and dad will and my sister might too :o)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
