Wonder how much it cost? I googled it and you can buy it for £15/£16 ish a bottle I know expensive but at least it a full bottle.... I dont think id buy a bottle unless the price of getting em done in a salon was near to the £15 mark?? xx

Hi Nicy,

Mine cost £30 for a french manicure, Its not like a nail varnish you could put straight onto your nails yourself. they build it up in layers and after each layer your nails go under a UV lamp.

My friend has it on her fingers and toes I have never had my toes done my feet are far too sensitive couldn't bear it lol.

If you have a manicure then decide you would like a colour on you can paint over the gel with a normal nail varnish then as long as you remove the colour with acetone free remover your gel manicure remains untouched.....genius !!! lol

I got my box from ebay it was around £24 that includes delivery - they do have a website i think..boxofmemories or something like that.

The girl down the road is doing the shellac for £15 going up to £20 in May and she said its £25 in salons. As Joden says you need the lamp etc to go with it. I dont think i'd trust myself to do french. Maybe colour i'd be ok but then you'd have to buy the top coat and colour and undercoat etc... maybe worth it if your gonna have it all the time though :o)

Got our last jabs today... the doc's said yes Scarlett can have her preschool booster and Hep A on same day so that will all be out the way on the 11th. Going to collect Harrison's shoes today and i have my final dress fitting next week!!! SO exciting. This time in 8weeks we'll prob be boarding our plane now!!! Yiiippppeeee x

Morning!! Wow woke up this morning in a fab mood!! Were getting married!! Im soooo excited now! After spending lots of time recently getting things done I feel like a huge weight has been lifted and I now just mega excited!! So the things I have left to do:

Order ties to match BM dresses for the men - will do that today

Pick up 2 shirts for the ushers - found these, just need to find them in the right neck size - will do that today/tom

pick flowers- this is too hard, i love them all! what has everyone gone for if you have managed to decide already? and any advice? I have coral bm's so want something to tie in with them...

Find boat trip for guests - have emailed a few, just trying to get the price down- hopefully getsomething booked by end of week....

Go see AHR venue- wanted to wait til the weather was a bit nice so i have an idea what it might be like in june - might call down this weekend and see what decorations i will need.

Playlist for DJ for AHR - have left this to groom but better get my arse in gear as he is a bit slow!! - work in progress

Choose songs for wedding - what's everyone having for walking down the aisle, first dance etc I have not even started thinking about this yet!

Order dress box - thanks for the info ladies, will order this today!

Oh god now I have made that list, I have just realised still a bit to do!! Good job i have 10 weeks!!

Im also considering having hair extensions................any advice?? my hair is long enough, but for some reason it has gone really thin!! I think its all the crash dieting!! (10 lbs down, would like to loose 20 more....) Im just worried about going away with them swimming/sea etc.............has anyone had them done before and how hard are they to manage??

Right, better go to work now, keep forgetting I do have a real job to do, not just wedding planning!! x

Wow your on top form this morning :o)

We are not chosing our floweres etc till we are out there but i know i want pink roses and the bm's will have white roses..

All i need to do now is get the BM's gifts and Harrison's favour. I'm thinking a small bottle of aftersave or something for him.

I also need one more thing for the OOT bags and to print the welcome letter for them and i'm done :o)

We're not decorating our AHR as its such a pretty room we dont really need to so that's saved us some money :o)

Nicy, good job posting the list, but wow... how depressing for me cry.gif as my time is done and over with... I really would like a post-wedding forum for UK brides... I'd feel less 'stalkerish'... cheesy.gif

All, I STILL haven't gotten around to posting my review... I'm terrible about deciding on things (big surprise, eh?)... I want to include a good number of pictures, but there are so many!  Loads have been posted on Facebook by our guests, plus I have the ones from the resort photographer... ah well... better to have more than enough than hardly any!

As an aside, one bit of advice I'd like to offer you guys is to check out and make sure you like your alternate (read: rain) location... It's nice to think that the weather will be perfect, but it doesn't always turn out that way.  We were there from Monday to Monday and the weather was glorious for the most part.  As a matter of fact, it only rained once.  There was a thunderstorm from 3pm to 5pm on Thursday and our wedding was at 4 on Thursday... so they moved us from the beach to the chapel (which I had considered for the primary location anyways).  It ended up working out really well... everyone loved it (chapel was really cute/quaint) and as a bonus, we got lots of photos by the (deserted) pool and on the (deserted) beach, cuz the rain stopped at 5!

Sorry for droning on, but am so pleased everybody's plans are coming together... It's nice to see your (collective) progress! msnparty.gif  Not long to go now for some of you!!!!

Cheers,

Laurel

Great idea asking about music.... we are stuck.... completley..... We need 4 songs for Mexico, and one for our AHR ..... Any ideas, i like somewhere over the rainbow and cannon in d etc etc but i want something different, was thinking Bruno Marrs but now everyone seems to be having it, and after the eps of glee with it on, my wedding might remind people of glee!!! LOL.... Stephen and i dont really like the same music either.... which doesnt help!!!!! xxx

lol i know. I'm a chemist of my own ha ha.. sick of taking tabs though. Hope the scan and bloods show what the problem is so can get is sorted. Doesn't help when we have just 8 weeks till mexico. Think stressing about that is not helping at all. I'm going for the blood test tomorrow and i have to wait for an appointment from the hospital for the scan.. hopefully not to soon :o(

Glad your box came, i love mine too, must be a girl thing ha ha Dan wasn't as impressed as me, lol

If i get the nails done i will post a pic x

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
