Oh and also, I have been to Cancun for the last 3 years on the spin and EVERYWHERE takes US dollars.  Mexicans look generally disappointed if you give them paseos as the US exchange is better for them.  Especially in taxi's and for tips too.  Hope that is some help?

Starting to panic that I havent done enough!

We had a letter from our travel agent saying about the peso/dollar thing, but i think we'll take dollars anyway and see what happens... (Credit card in the pocket too just incase) x

1. They still accept peso and dollars like they always have done. If u use your credit card that will be calculated in dollars.

2. For those of you flying with Thomson we took our letter with us when we checked in about the additional luggage and there were no quibbles over anything but be warned....  You have to spread your extra 10kgs each over 2 bags ie; you will end up taking 6 bags if you use all your allowance and the 2 additional bags to your suitcase have to weigh exactly 5kgs each I cannot tell u how many times I rearranged our bags.

3. You WILL be charged for anything you are over on the way back.

4.  The dolpins is a complete rip off compared to what it was when we went 3 years ago - you no longer can pay to have the photos they take printed off - they only put them on a CD and charge about $30 per photo.  Its about $150 for an adult and thats if you go direct obviously more with the tour operator - our hotel was a stones throw from the marina at Puerto Aventuras so the rest of our guests booked direct.  We didnt swim with them this time. They also do too many things now to try and cash in on the photos rather than swimming etc with them.

xx

Thanks Josie...... Great help xxx Glad to see you popping back on now and agan xx

Well, you have been a busy girl :-) x Sounds fab!!! Im sure your MOH will be ok, the doc will prob have to give her the Ok, nut as long at the pregnancy is a relativly smooth one im sure all will be good x Not sure with mugs, i was looking at one point but like you couldnt find good ones in the uk.... they were all in the states, i did see some in wilkinsons (slightly smaller than the american/canadian ones) and got one to see what it was liek my FI took it to work... IT LEAKS ALOT :-( so i just gave up on the idea x

I have had all my stuff come through today, I got up at 8am to go to post office as i had two parcels to collect so i used it as an excuse to go running, was good. I collected my Cake dowels and my blue and white balloons. Then the postie came here around 11am and delivered a RSVP (acceptance) and all my other bits and bobs... clear balloons, favours, organza bags, (although organza bag is not really the colour i want but i can klive with them) cake pillars, weight boxes and balloon curling ribbon & my icing cutters came :-) I tell you i was like a kid at christmas, it was great.... sat opening everything.... LOL :-) Im so excited x

We have lots of people confirmed booking accommodation in my town for the AHR :-) Which is brilliant. I have 4 "official" RSVP's so far, Its like im looking forward to getting home from work so i can see if more have come... haha x

Also I have finished my post box :-) whoo!!!

Sorry dont know why pic so big....

So what doo you think????? Im not sure i like the "post box" bit on the back? or if it needs it? Opinions please :-)

My lovely FMIL knocked on this morning.... We always knew she and FFIL were going to give us money as a wedding pressie as they had always said they would and she came round with a cheque today... :-)

Fab start to married life.... money in our savings.... we are not going to touch this or use it for the wedding in any way as we have used all our savings over the last 18 months on the wedding, and we have been worrying about having no savings left so this is a massive help.... :-) I nearly cried when she gave it to us.

FFIl will also be taking us the airport on the sunday morning (8 weeks 2moz, ARGH!!!!) we live about 2 hours from Glasgow Airport where were flying from.... so we were either going to have to leave and saty at the hotel airport the night before or ask for a lift... thankfully the lift is the way to go, no faffing about with the cases, so we will leave here around 5am.... Cant believe its that time where all the little things need sorting...

We have practically bought all our holiday clothes etc, one or two more things to get.... and im going to start to iron and pack in the cases in the next few weeks... so im not lumbered with it all at once...

Need to get the toiletries in the next few weeks.... sun lotion etc etc too...I love holiday shopping :-) xxx

Were off work til wedneday, as were off to Glasgow again on monday to stay over (going to a gig on Mon night) looking forward to that :-) Hopefully Primark will have a few more bikinis than a few weeks ago when we went, as i still need abut 5 :-) x

Ladies,

I really love this thread and wish I had found it so much sooner... I'm sorry I haven't posted in a few days, but just can't keep up with you guys... It moves too fast!dizzy.gif  So... I really, really want to comment on everybody's lovely posts and such... but no timesad.gif  I've been running around making sure all of the last bits are in place (only got my wedding shoes yesterday and rings arrived today!) We'll be packing all day tomorrow and then getting in a taxi at 5am on Monday and we'll be off!!!!  ...on our way to sunny, sunny Mexicocool.gif  I'm VERY excited, but quietly panicking insideundecided.gif

I promise when I get back to post a review and also see how the rest of you are progressing and offer any advice I can... Love you all!

Hasta luego,

Laurel cheers.gif

Nicy the post box really is lovely i must crack on and do ours... as far as DIY is concerned i think i've run out of steam ha ha.....

Yeh Scarlett is sweet but also has the devil in her and boy when she goes does she go. Like most kids i suppose...

Lyndsey i would of killed Dan if he'd done that ha ha...

Laurel good luck with everything! Hope it all goes well and look forward to hearing all about it when your home :o)

We are off to a chistening today but i feel so sick in pain with my back. Didn't sleep much it's all on the left hand side and feels like its all my side now with shooting pains in my stomache... but can't get comfortable at all and the tablets dont seem to be helping. Don't know if i've made it worse by doing Zumba yesterday. I wonder if i've traped a nerve or something...?   I'm sooooooo frustrated cos i just wanna exercise and tone up for holiday and can hardly bloody move. I've been in a terrible mood all week cos of the pain :o( FI was worried it was a apendisitis or something but i think that pain is more on the right hand side.. never had pain that made me feel sick before though.. :o(

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
