Yes it is for the whole day, lunch & dinner included & then you stay there at night & they have a big mexican fiesta show with traditional mayan dance.....supposed to be really good. It is probably the only excursion I will do so want to get all done in one day.....snorkelling, swimming with dolphins & the show....Richard is also going to swim with sharks there as well for an extra $53. Xcaret is the same kind of park as Xel-ha but they don't have the show in the evening so figured we may as well go to the one with the show.

Feels so close now, I booked my nails & highlights for the day before we fly & we booked the minibus to take us to the airport....OMG feels really real now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :) :)

Oooh - Im just so excited for you girls!  I havent anything exciting to add but just wanted to say that!

Oh and also, I have been to Cancun for the last 3 years on the spin and EVERYWHERE takes US dollars.  Mexicans look generally disappointed if you give them paseos as the US exchange is better for them.  Especially in taxi's and for tips too.  Hope that is some help?

Starting to panic that I havent done enough!

Hey ladies just checking in and saw a couple of points might be able to help you with:

1. They still accept peso and dollars like they always have done. If u use your credit card that will be calculated in dollars.

2. For those of you flying with Thomson we took our letter with us when we checked in about the additional luggage and there were no quibbles over anything but be warned....  You have to spread your extra 10kgs each over 2 bags ie; you will end up taking 6 bags if you use all your allowance and the 2 additional bags to your suitcase have to weigh exactly 5kgs each I cannot tell u how many times I rearranged our bags.

3. You WILL be charged for anything you are over on the way back.

4.  The dolpins is a complete rip off compared to what it was when we went 3 years ago - you no longer can pay to have the photos they take printed off - they only put them on a CD and charge about $30 per photo.  Its about $150 for an adult and thats if you go direct obviously more with the tour operator - our hotel was a stones throw from the marina at Puerto Aventuras so the rest of our guests booked direct.  We didnt swim with them this time. They also do too many things now to try and cash in on the photos rather than swimming etc with them.

xx

Hi Josie, nice to have you back on here :o)

What a rip off with the dolphins!! Can't believe you can't just buy a photo. Our friends went in 2009 and they got a photo so this must be a recent thing .... booooo!!!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
