On the hand luggage thing.....we are flying with Thomson & have a letter from First Choice saying 'In addition to the normal hand luggage of 5kg we allow wedding couples an additional 5kg for wedding attire, this needs to be placed in a suitable case/box complying with our size requirements' ......... I am taking this letter with me & will be whipping it out in my bridezilla moment....lol.....for all of you flying with Thomson I would presume this is the same for you girls.

9 Weeks Lyndsey....OMG....we are 12 weeks, so scary....am really excited but getting really nervous as well!!

Are you girls taking dollars with you are pesos?

I've been reading so much about the no dollars thing but it seems they are fine to take and use at our hotel. I will prob take a mixture of both... not really sure how much spending money we will need for 2wk's. Suppose i should start thinking about that...?

I know they like tipping in dollars....

Will keep fingers, toes & everything else crossed for you Roo, I expect it will really lift her spirits when she sees you & she probably is scared bless her xx

I was wondering how much to take as well Michelle......have got to say funds are running really low at the minute.....having the boiler go at Christmas really wiped us out.  My mum has been fantastic, she insisted on paying for my bridesmaids shoes on Saturday bless her.  As its all inclusive I don't suppose we need much but I do want to do the swimming with dolphins with the kids.....looked up it up to do it at Xel ha, for the whole day for the 4 of us all swimming with dolphins & paying for lunch & dinner in there it worked out abut £400 for the day.  Seems a lot of money for one day but it is probably one of the only excursions I will do, Richard wants to see some ruins but I'm not too bothered & the Akumal beach where you can swim with turtles is about 15 mins from our hotel, costs $3 to go there on the collectivo buses so that is a result.

I think we will just have to see how much we have in the kitty when we go & what we've got we've got!!

We want to swim with dolphins but hope it to come in under £400.. I know you said that was for the day etc etc... but Dan will go nuts if we pay that out on one day. He wants a golf day which will be expensive and obviously our nights out to Coco's but apart from that a little shopping trip round playa del carmen will do me. I want to RELAX on my holiday lol..

Yeah, flying with Thomsons too, and have the same letter, it will also be coming with me!!! Haha x

We usually like to take $1 & $5 dollar bills to tip with and then higher denominations for excursions etc.... as far as i know they still accept dollars so i will take them, i think, and my Credit card as a back up :-) x

Oh wicked that is great!!

One of my BM's swam with them when she went two yrs ago. She got in and did the $60 one with her daughter. Her other daughter went in and was lifted etc etc with them with her dad. That one was about $90 i think she said. But that was literally going and just swimming with them. I think Lisa's is a whole day out by the sounds of it and i suppose $100 each for a day out is OK.

I'm really looking forward to it. I really wanna go in but think i might chicken out once i'm there lol.. just the thought of something swimming under/around me makes my heart race!! Apparently they are REALLY smelly too ha ha - i can hear Scarlett now  "mummy what is that smell" lol..

Back to the flight, BM's hubby phoned the airline today to be told (something i had already warned them) that we wont have TV's in the back of our seats on our long haul Monarch flight. Their planes are not premium and a lower scale to other laug haul carriers! So they are not happy as their girls will be bored for 10hours and not like watching the TV in the aisle(they are taking portable DVD players but will only run for 2hrs). I understand ppl's frustration it is bad we are on there 10hours but it's old hat. We knew it and whats the point in moaning about it there is nothing i can do!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We've also had a few dramas with ppl over the last few days about the wedding and AHR etc ppl not passing invites on and then getting the stick for it.... can't even be bothered to explain as dont wanna bore you all but it just absolutely makes me laugh how horrible and nasty trouble makers come out when a wedding is involved!! Actally makes me sick!!!!!!!!!! Rant OVER :o) xx

I swam with the dolphins when Jay & I went to Mexico 12yrs ago and it was amazing, i cant wait to do it again. They do it at Xcaret which is ment to be very good. We went there but they didnt have the dolphins then, but a lovely day out.

I was told by my TA to take Mexican Pesco this is what the travel agents were advised back in November from Mexico, as they said that you are limited on how much dollars you can use, will be worth checking when you go to change them up.

Nicyx where has the time gone, 9 weeks omg

Michelle try not to let them get you down, some people will always find something to moan about.cheers.gif

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
