Hello ladies! :)

I am new to this site and just recently came across you lot - it's so nice to see someone from UK too! :D I am not getting married in Mexico, instead we decided to go for Dominican Republic (all booked in for March 2012), but even so thought I will say hi to all of you from another destination bride and good luck in planning! :))

FYI, my heart goes to you ladies who don't get along too well with their MIL's...mine has been devil ever since we got engaged...:((( but at least, looking at the bright side, now I know the way she really is and I will try and stay away from her as much as it is possible!:D

Happy planning to all of you!!! :) xoxo

Hello Michelle! :)

It's so nice to find a place like this with a lovely gals like you all for support and to share all this wonderful experience of planning the happiest day of our lives! :D

My fiance proposed to me in November last year and since then we started to plan our big day, we wanted to get married in October, however after looking through finances decided to move it to March 2012!

We are getting married in Dreams La Romana in DR, I personally never been there, but my fiance has been, so I trust him with it completely lol :) We booked it all just a couple of days ago, soooo exciting, we are leaving UK 29Feb and hopefully will be able to have our wedding on 6th of March. However I am still waiting for the TA to come back to me with confirmation. There will be only our closest friends and family there, but I am sure we will have tones of fun :D

Michelle, I have been reading this thread and it's soooo helpful, gave me sooo many more ideas that I even decided to make a list lol :D Although our big day is still a year away, i know that time will pass very quickly :))

xoxo

Actually in the beginning of this month I have decided to go wedding dress shopping with my mum and friend, just thought will try few and see what's out there...and I ended up falling in love with one of the dresses lol !!! It's a little bit more money then I budgeted at first, but after talking it through with my wonderful husband to be, he told me to take it - so I will be ordering it next month yay :) So biggest worry of finding the dress is out of my way :D

that reminds me nicy, if you´re getting bags of rose petals as part of your package, and you want them scattering by a little person, take something to put the petals in as they come in a plastic bag with a bit of ribbon on it!

i never even noticed at the time, but looking back ath the wedding video today, it´s really funny, mia´s got her flowers and a polybag of petals! i´d have brought a cone or a little basket or something if i´d have thought of it!

We have been to the DR twice, not to your resort though but it does look gorgeous :-)
WOW, your dress is gorgeous, very princess.. Lovely x

This is my dress

Benjamin Roberts

http://www.benjaminroberts.co.uk/4017-p-329.html

I only bought mine in December, Mine is white not ivory like the pic, it comes into the shop for me round about the 5th March.... Not long now!!!  Cant wait x

I was never really bothered about a wedding dress i always said i would just buy a white gown from Monsson or something but then as soon as we booked and i came on here my mind was changed completly. Like you i hadnt budgeted for my dress but wanted it so much when i found it & after 1 or 2 discussions with FI he said go for it :-) I have changed my mind so many times about so many things... I never wanted a veil either but now im having one LOL :-)

We started looking for our DW in May 2009, after a VERY long engagement (8 years, now together 10, LOL) but we coudnt book until April/MAy 2010, we actually booked on May 4th 2010 and believe me when i say time flys coz now i get married 14 weeks tomorrow.... ARGH... FOURTEEN WEEKS!!!!! and it feels so good to say that, as its always been "X" months til i get married.. and no i can count in weeks its actually scary how fast its come round!!!!

Jo thanks so much for that, as at the mo we are debating on having our niece as a flower girl, only thing is we dont know if she is too young? She just turned 1 at xmas and she is walking but i dont know if she will understand etc? We will play it by ear i think, do you think 18 months is too young? But that is fab to know as if we go for it then i will have to take a basket or cone. Thanks again x

amurka just noticed your hotel is in Bayahibe... We stayed at the Iberostar Hacenda Dominicus in 2006 that is in Bayahibe.... Beautiful Beautiful Place.

If you can do the Seona Island trip when your there i would definatly reccommend it.

We got a speedboat out to the middle of the ocean where it stopped and it was only waist deep, we all got out to swin and we got starfish to hold which the guy found on the bottom of the sea :-)

Then we went on to Seona island, it is the island that years ago the bounty advert was filmed... and i SWEAR its paradise on earth :-) Then we got a Catamaran back where we had a party :-) It was great x

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
