Herbie - Love your rings. Yours is like mine set with diamonds, as FI says i do love a bit of bling ha ha... cant wait till we have ours at home :o) i will just look at it all day ha ha

2bewed2011 - welcome along :o) Herbie's hotel was one on our short list. Lovely hotel. Along with Dreams Riviera Cancun but after researching most of the hotels in Mexico we went for the Barcelo Maya Palace. We had looked at alot of hotels (and i mean me my BM and FI for about 5months debating each of them along the Riviera Maya, lol) but just fell in love with the look of the Palace and the good reviews etc. It just had everything we were looking for really. Something for everyone and the gazebo is lush and we just cant wait to get married there :o) You will know when you've found "the one" although it is defo the hardest part, chosing the hotel... good luck with your search

We spent about 9 months deciding where to get married..... this is definatly the hardest part..... we chose Riu Palace Riviera Maya because it was the 1st place that we both fell in love with everything.... others we looked at stephen loved bits that i liked and i loved bits that he liked.... then we came across the Riu Palace and "WHAM" we both fell in love with it :-)

Its perfect for us and our familys and kid friendly to which we needed :-)

Michelle is right, when you find the one you will know.... bit like the perfect dress really!!!! :-) x

Hi 2beWed2011, welcome to the forum, as the other ladies have said choosing the hotel is the hardest part.  I'm not getting married until July 2012 and I thought i had my hotel sorted with The Gran Caribe Real as it had really good reviews and I loved the Gazebo, however after researching it more it just wasn't for me even though it had excellent reviews, I looked at travellers pictures on trip advisor and didn't like the location of the gazebo or where the kids club was located as well as large groups of american college kids going there every july, which would be fine normally but not on my wedding week, so i was back to square one.

I can honestly say i have probably looked into EVERY hotel along the Cancun strip and have finally settled on Dreams Cancun.  First and foremost it has a beautiful clifftop Gazebo, it is an excellent resort for kids, good variety of restaurants, surrounded by 3 beaches, all the reviews i have read say that the staff go above and beyond and most importantly every wedding review that i've read on here all the brides have said that they had the wedding of their dreams.

Good luck with choosing, you will get a lot of information on this forum, let us know which one you go with.

Hi Ladies

Well i thought i had managed to steal a bargain with the bridesmaids shoes however it's ended in disappointment and i am back to square 1!!!!

1 pair of the shoes arrived but they were marked with some kind of red ink and the rest of the order barratts were unable to fulfil so i have had to organise a full refund and start searching again i am gutted as they were perfect and exactly what i was looking for but hey ho back to the drawing board.

Charmaine....The shoes are really pretty will definatly have a look at that site, not sure what the boys are wearing as shaun wants to choose it himself!! last time we spoke they was talk about white linen suits but still no decision made will keep you posted though, what about you have you made any decisions?

It's scary to think i am now only 10 months away aarrgghhhhhh thats going to whizz by whoooo

i'm getting married in July 2012 at Dreams Cancun.  Are you all booked up, if so which Travel Agent did you book through?

Herbie - The necklaces are so pretty your BM will love them.  Your rings are very similiar to ones that me and Wayne have picked out, very nice indeed.

Welcome along all the new b2b who I havent spoken to yet!!  Enjoy the early planning - it only gets more stressful the closer you get :-))))

Love those flip flops char!

Had my hen party on Saturday nite - i am far to old to stay out until 4.30 - i couldnt move on Sunday!  When shopping with BMs on Monday and got them a pashmina each and flower for their hair; yesterday got my underwear and my final dress alteration underway.

FIs stag next weekend, Christmas shopping to do and then all of the sudden it will be time for us to depart - arrrggghhh - 7 weeks on Friday.  Gonna have to do a final list tonight and work out how much money I need to find in 7 weeks - we have been so lucky though we havent used our credit cards once - but have had no money to ourselves for months - but I'm sure I wont regret it  x

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
