sounds like a lot, what you could always do is order some, then once you have they immediately offer you more for free, you only pay the postage.

Nicy - I have people laugh at me to when I talk about you girls as being my friends, but to tell you the truth I sometimes feel closer to you girls then I do to my friends that are in the 'real world'.  I think my friends and family get fed up of hearing me talk about my wedding especially as it is still 2 years away, sometimes they make me feel really stupid for getting so excited and planning so soon, but then I come on here and speak to you ladies and I realise that i'm allowed to be excited.  As you said we are planning the biggest day of our lives together and I think of you all as friends xx

Waybuloo - I am having such complications with this..where do I start?  Basically my mum and dad split up when I was 1 year old and my step dad and mum raised me.  When I was 9 my step dad legally adopted me because my mum wanted all of her children to have the same name (she had 2 children with my step dad), so my original birth certificate was 'destroyed' and a new one was issued with my step dads name on it.  When I reached 16 and could take control of things I had my name changed by Deed Poll back to my real dads surname...are you all with me so far??

When we decided to get married in Mexico I contacted the adoption department to find out how I go about getting my adoption reversed or cancelled or whatever, as I do not get on with my stepdad at all and want nothing to do with him and I can't stand his name being on my birth certificate, but they told me once your adopted its final and there is nothing they can do aaaarrrggghhh.  So now I have to have my orginial birth cerificate which has 'ADOPTED' written all over it, my current birth certificate with my step dads name on it, my adoption certificate and my change of name Deed Poll all translated into Spanish....are you still with me??

And just to complicate things further I also need to get my mums original birth certificate, marriage and divorce certificate (she has divorced my stepdad) translated into Spanish too because she had different surnames on my original birth certificate and adoption certificate so they need a paper trail that links her names to prove that she is the same person that is named on my certificates....confused because i bloody am??

Should I just start screaming from now!!  smile41.gif

Janapana - Nob-jockeys, you make me laff smile120.gif  Oh and I love the pens and luggage tags, you ladies are so creative I really need to start getting with this DIY stuff xx

Roo66 - I am so glad to hear that you are feeling better, just stay away from all these negative people and try and concentrate on your wedding day....you did make me laugh when you said, and I quote 'gunna grab all his notes set  them on fire and burn all his nasal hair with them' hahahahaha

Louise - your pictures are beautiful, they brought tears to my eyes and they reminded me just why we wanted a beach wedding...congratulations again hun, I can't wait to read your review xx

To this day - as a little girl of 9, I was so humiliated and felt so protective of my mother but also so desperate to not have to go back home.

I just want to let you know, that these children will appreciate what you do for them one day.  More then you realise at this very moment. My stepmum made us feel like normal people again after that bit of routine.   I really feel for you and think you are doing a brave and amazing job.  People forget sometimes how difficult it is to be a stepmum as you are usually painted as some interferring/horrible person but at the end of the day, people forget that you are taking on a whole nother family  and that is something that not all that many people can relate to.

Keep going - be the bigger person, try not to slag off their mum in front of them however hard that is to do and just try and be an ear when they want to have a moan with out voicing an opinion and I promise they will have more respect for you then they do for her.  My stepmum now has the last laugh as I havent spoken to my mum for 5 years and it is  my stepmum and my dad that are going to be walking me up the aisle because she was far more of a mother then my mum ever was.

So so so sorry if that was a long one girls - but I just wanted to let Roo now how special she was!

xxxxxx

Arrrrrr, Brought a tear to my eyes!!! WOW, your one strong lucky lady :-) xox

on the plus side, our luggage tags, pens and my W.I.F.E t-shirt arrived today.. The pens and tags look great, but i´m really disappointed with the t-shirt..... it´s HUGE. have emailed vista to complain. i know it´s only a joke t-shirt, but still, i´d like to wear it at least once.

These are the pens and luggage tags, excuse the middle one, i can´t persuade my camera to take close ups today!

Hey Ladies

Not been on for a few days but have missed loads so will have to sit with a brew and have a good catch up.

Went for another interview today and its looking hopeful i have a trial afternoon with them on Thursday 1pm-5pm its only a part time job and the money isnt as much as i would like but money is money right now, the job is administration for an auction house.

Another positive for me this week is that i have lost 2 and a half pound this week so well on my way to my weight loss goal, planning a boudoir bride shoot with For Your Eyes Only has been great for motivation lol.

Louise....Your pictures are amazing lovely and it looks like you had an amazing time, you all looked beautiful and your a stunning bride.

Roo...Glad you got sorted with your hubby to be and that things are quiet on the stepson front

Janapana...Your luggage tags are really cute, did you do the logo yourself? and are they from vistaprint?

Right you lot.....kids are both with grandparents so opportunity to tie 'him' down to look at suits, favours etc.....yeah right football has been on!!!! & 'apparently' we have ages to decide these things.........urrgghhh!!

Anyway that left me with no option but to get out the vodka...hiccup.....& sit on youtube trying to choose 5 songs for the ceremony & get 'him' to agree on our first dance as we don't have an our song!!!!

Half a bottle later I have sobbed at the words in tons of songs, in fact can't stop crying.....have come on here & seen all your comments (cried some more because I am sure that we are the nicest bunch of brides that BDW has ever seen) & think we should do away with the men & just have a great big party in our dresses with all our favours & jewellery spread around us.....hahahahaha

I know I am pissed but THANK GOD for you lot xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx hiccup!!

& the point of this nealfjy forgot....have you chose all your songs?s   I am gonna have to cry for a week before I go so I stay in control on the day.....I used to cry at Worzel Gummidge FFS.....need to get my emotions in check.......

Oh & now football has finished 'What was you saying earlier babe!!!!!'  Piss off.....I'm going to bed with the other half a bottle & my laptop & cyber frineds.....lol

Waybuloo....I am thinking a good old knees up in our fab dresses is a great idea lol i totally get what your saying about men though hun i know my H2B will say nothing regards planning etc till nearer the time and then will want to change some of my plans!!! which is not likely they are set in stone lol.

I have only chose 2 songs so far and that is our first dance song which will be On the Wings of Love by Jeffrey Osbourne and the song i will walk down the aisle too is going to be Canon in D but not sure if to have it played by a violin or harp or maybe both (we get an instrumentalist of our choice in with the package) i have also decided that my wedding video will play to take thats The Greatest Day.

I did also think about Endless Love by Luther Vandross and Mariah Carey for the first dance but have always dreamed since being younger of having On the Wings of Love as my wedding song so its a winner i think and the words are lovely too.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
