I have a few ideas written down but not sure 100% what we will do yet. Cd's and candles sounds lovely though. I thought about the mini tequila bottles and personalized shot glasses. I also like the thought of the little cards with a lottery scratch card inside..... sweets maybe for the kids... I'm not sure yet...

Hi i have bought from the wedding fairy(on line) i tried to post a link !!!!! confetti cones with small,(tiny) tags that say "shower the couple with love and petals."As favours i bought the same cones and had written on them "love is so sweet....." i bought hot pink and turquoise jelly beans.I cant remember for the life of me which has which but she added tiny fushia pink and turquoise ribbons to each.Ive then bought pashminas for all the girls and the wedding fairy company made me tags which say " To have and to hold to keep you from the cold"

I would love to add starfish to the tables as place cards but so far ive not found a good deal.I was thinking the guests could then take them home.

Its really difficult when your on a tight budget to keep yourself reigned in isnt it.

We were in greece last week i should of checked out the minature ouzo bottles UMMMM i might do that ouzo shots !!!!

Re - favours i have gone for:

one of those little favour buckets you can get (goes along with the beach theme) - they will be used as name card holders as i have come gold heart pegs to attach them to the bucket and inside both men and women will have some 'sticks of rock' sweets with just married written on them. Behind the name card in an envelope will be a lottery ticket and a scratch card.

Then the men have a seperate cigar each and the women a personalised lip balm with the date on it.

I just think i could spend so much money on favours only for everyone to sling them in the back of a drawer never to be seen again :-(

Oh also did a fridge magnet for everyone with 'stereotypical' mexican images and wrote the hotel and date on it and the words - 'i travelled all the way to mexico to see jo and buster get married and all i got was this lousy magnet' !!!

Had some bitter sweet days over the last week - on the positive i got my wedding jewellery - suprisingly from marks and sparks as it matched by jewelled band on the dress and tiara perfectly - which means i can wear it all again and got a turquoise braclet as well. I'll see if i can get some pics.

Booked the hen party for 20th nov despite not getting married until 24th Jan but Dec everywhere was booking for Christmas so the prices all went up and no one will have any money after Christimas - lol! So there will be 14 of us going to see Priscilla Queen of the Desert in the afternoon and booked a lovely restaurant in Soho for afters and a booth at the club attached the restaurant! There is no hen paraphenallia allowed in the restaurant much to my mates annoyance and much to my delight!!

On the downside my job is in jepordary again for about the 3rd time as we have been taken over by another company today - but will think positive (i must). FI has said even if i am made redundant we are still getting married and still have the AHR as we would lose too much money - which made me smile :-) I have already got the money saved for the wedding and holiday so we would just have to not have such an elaborate AHR X

Hi everyone and congratulations on your engagement and your up and coming weddings.

Josietoms - you are getting married on my birthday so that will definately be a good day!!!

I'm getting married at the Moon Palace Golf and Spa Resort next year, we are flying out on the 28th March but still no wedding date confirmed, Thomas Cook say we cant get married till after the 5th April but we were hoping to married before that so going to ask the resort about booking directly through them, how long have you all been told you have to be in the country before you can get married?

Anyone found any good sites for wedding/bridesmaid dresses?

Hi Nicola

I'm from Knotty Ash in Liverpool!

Not planned anything so far, originally planned on going to the occidental grand xcaret but when we tried to get information from the wedding team at first choice they were not very helpful so then chose the Moon Palace. When we tried to book that we were told that they had taken it off sale for re-pricing!!! So finally booked the holiday last week!!! Just have to book the weddintg date now but will do that either later or tomorrow directly through Moon Palace.

Will check out that website for the dresses, thank you!!!

OMG Josie you will love Priscilla Queen of the Desert. We went in Feb for mums birthday. Such a laugh. My mum got up on stage and danced with them all it was the best night.... Sounds like you have a lovely hen planned and not to far away either... whoop!!

So sorry to hear about your job. It's such an awful time and i totally know how you feel. FI's work is still quiet but not heard anymore about him losing his job so just hoping he finds something else soon.. It's the unknown that is the worst isn't it? I really hope everything will be OK and work out fine. As your FI says you will still get married so even if the worst happens you have that to look forward to. We are all hear if you need to talk x

I love the saying on your magnets! ha ha

Jacqui your resort looks lovely. Never been before but friends have and always say nice things about it :o)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
