We have shifted our wedding date to 11/12/2010 so that we can have our ceremony at the Xcaret St. Francis of Assisi Chapel!

We have updated our website and hoping more people will book soon. How do you guys get people to book? I'm worried airfare will keep going up:/

What time are you guys having your ceremonies/reception.

I heard from Xcaret that the sunset is at 5 in November....

I set up a group on Facebook and added all my friends that are invited to the wedding. Most of my guestlist is on facebook so its been easy for me to stay in contact with everyone. Anytime my TA updates booking info, its easy for me to send out a group email to everyone informing them of the change. Not only that, but I am constantly reminding people of how fast time is moving and in reality there is only 3mos left to book under our group contract. Once you put the amount of time left into perspective, people realize that Nov isnt so far after all.

We're getting married at 4:00pm and reception at 6. I hope we have enough time for pictures after the ceremony.

Hi Kristin - we visited there during our site visit in December. The place is gorgeous and the rooms are really nice!! We didn't chose it because at the time we were looking for resorts with onsite chapels. The place is gorgeous though so you are going to have a great wedding.

Angelina - I hear you on the finances! One of my best friends has been unemployed for almost a year now. I asked her to be one of my bridesmaids because she literally is like a sister but I also made sure to tell her I understood if she could not make it because of financial reasons. She is somehow still planning on going and pulling every move she can to be there.
Did you go to Iberostar? How was it? I have never been there!

We did end up going. We really thought the chapel was very cute and the area around it would have been perfect since it is private. At the end of the day we decided to stay at the Hacienda Tres Rios because that is what we had our heart set on and we're doing our ceremony at the Xcaret Chapel.

We were able to see two of the Iberostar resorts - 1) I think was the most basic one and we saw the most upscale one. I wish we had taken pictures but we forgot our camera for that visitsad.gif
We were able to see the beach area there too - that beach is PERFECT and AMAZING!

Hi ladies I am getting married at The Royal with a reception at Kool Beach Club on 11.12.10, popular date around here :)

We are finally going to go get the bm dresses next week. Next on the list is OOT bags. We have 73 so far. We asked for all rsvp's by July 12th so hopefully I will know soon exactly how many people so I can get all the OOT bag stuff.

Random question, what are you girls doing for hair. Its pretty windy at night in November would I be an idiot to wear my hair down rather than an updo?

Hello ladies- I am getting married at the Royal PDC November 19, 2010.

My invitations just went out this week! Now my next big task to tackle is wedding rings and finding our birth certificates (hopefully we won't need to obtain new copies). My ring is already picked out just need to order it but FI can't make up his mind.

Jesmcan - I'm torn with the same hair dilemma! I prefer my hair down or half up/half down but I'm leaning towards at updo for the same reasons as you. I am also using Fernando and he is coming the day before the wedding to do a trial run. However, I'm thinking of going to my local salon and exploring some options before I get to Mexico this way I can show Fernando pics of what I want.

I was thinking of doing a down-do with lots of curls, but then I thought about the wind. Im also thinking of maybe doing something half up/half down or maybe a low side ponytail with curls. I saw this style on theknot and it looked really cute. I feel like deciding on a hair do for myself and for my bridesmaids is one of the hardest tasks I have!

Hey ladies, I am getting married Nov. 13th at capilla de nuestra senora del carmen. We are sending out invitations in a few weeks and I will not accept anymore rsvp's after August 15th.

I'm planning to visit in September to bring my oot items, purchase maracas, and finalize everything. Just like you guys I'm struggling with the hair decision...

all of the vendors are booked except for the florist and cake. Do you guys have suggestions?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
