We originally wanted to do our wedding on 10/10/10 but we were told by everyone to switch to November because the chances of avoiding a hurricane is better in November. I think the weather is so unpredictable nowadays everywhere so it's tough to predict.

I am in your same boat about hair. I want to wear my hair down in lose curls but I've been told to wear it up because it's going to be windy. I never wear my hair up though so it's going to be weird for me. I don't even know which ones would look best on me.

Ya the last 4 years that we gone in November we have had perfect weather :) but you just never know these days it is very true.

I really suggest wearing your hair up. I am in the same boat, I never wear it up. But I had to put it up the whole vacation every time we go because especially at night its very windy.

I am doing a hair trial here in October before I go because I want to try 4 different looks and than decide. That way we can nail it for the actual hair trial in Mexico.

What's the weather been like the past 4 years you've gone? I heard 75-80 during the day and chillier at night. We went last year in August and it was HOTTT then went in December and we had to wear sweatshirts at night. We'd rather have it cooler at night since we're doing an outdoor reception and people will be dancing up a storm....but just curious :)

me again...transportation question...has anyone/ or is anyone planning to use Cancun and the Riviera Maya Mexico - Hotels, Pictures, Beaches, Information for private transportation to/from airport and resort? i was thinking about hiring it for our bridal party and parents this way they dont have to stop at other resorts...the price isnt bad...for roundtrip private transportation the cost is $135 for a van that fits 8-10 people...let me know if you have any thoughts on this...thanks, Nicole

During the day it has been really hot I would say more lie 85 - 95 but than lie you said at night it has been 60 -70 and I always wear jeans and I have worn a sweat shirt to. It is much cooler at night but perfect for an out door reception! In my opinion its the perfect weather.

I had only heard of Cancun Transfers but this is really good!! We have a few people on our flight so this would work great for us. So it's $135TOTAL for a roundtrip van?

Yes! I have already done 3 makeup trials (1 w/ my artist, 1 w/ a friend and 1 at Sephora). It took me that many trials to realize I didnt want the "smoky" look!!! (duh) I first blamed the makeup artists style but realized my directions were the problem!! So now I am going to try for a 4th trial using the natural look and hopefully will finally nail it. While I also had a hair trial during my last visit, it wasnt exactly what I wanted to I'm considering going to my local stylist and even trying out someone at Super Cuts (or some other very cheap salon) in the hopes of getting good pictures to show my day-of stylist.

As for hurricanes, heck yes I'm worried - esp after the reports that this is expected to be an active hurricane season. Ours is not a big resort so even if something happens in October, I'm nervous things wouldnt be repaired in time for our wedding. Hence, I made my FI buy insurance!! Indeed, I am a BZ.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
