When I asked him about this, he told me he hadn't yet booked another wedding for my day...I confirmed with ddemayo, a fellow BDWer that she had indeed book and paid the deposit.

We haven't figured it out completely yet, and I'm sure it'll work out, but just putting this out there so you guys are careful with him, and be upfront with him about the schedule. I know he has a great reputation, but sometimes good people make mistakes too.
Thanks for sharing and letting us know. I hope everything works out. Keep us posted on what happens.

I am really considering looking into the woman Lady Di used and losing my deposit with Fernando. It sucks but I'd rather lose $250 to have piece of mind.
I cant believe he doesnt work with a contract...anybody i do business with and give a $250 deposit to i would make sure i have a contract...i think the fact that he double booked means he messed up and he should have to refund you your money, if he doesnt he risks bad reviews being written on here...i would not want to be stressed that day worrrying about whether he is going to show up..I would get my money back and book someone else so i could be worry free to enjoy my special day...good luck!

Yikes! I hope you guys get this sorted out asap. I am using Lorena Hijuelas who was recommended by my coordinator. Her page is here: Untitled Document.

If you want a back up, feel free to reach out to her (no date conflicts as I have booked her for the 6th). She also brings her own hair stylist and speaks English.

I considered doing the same and going with Norma that woman Lady_Di used. However she was really late for Lady_Di and she did not get a chance to get pictures with her bridesmaids because of it.

ugghhhh its such a hard choice and one we shouldn't even have to be worrying about.

How close is Fernando cutting it between you and the other bride? And where is the other brides wedding in relation to distance from the Royal?
He is only leaving about a 20 minute window between me and the other bride which is what is making me have doubts. If it were even a full hour difference, I'd feel better.

I did speak to him about my concerns and he kept assuring me that everything would work out ok. I am having me and my 3 bridesmaids. He told me he is coming with an additional makeup artist and 2 hairstylists. He is suppose to get to me at 1 pm and my ceremony is at 3:30.

I'm so unsure on what to do. I really don't want to lose my deposit but I also want to know that I am getting the service I am paying for. UGHHHH!!!!!

Thanks for letting me vent ladies!

Hi all -

I'm so happy to have come across this thread! I'll be tying the knot at the Royal PDC on November 20th, 2010. :)

My friend used Fernando as well, and had nothing but good things to say about him. I'm considering it, but he is substantially more expensive. It's worth it though, right??

Looking forward to going through this planning process with everyone!

Welcome Connie! I'm getting married at the Royal the day before you :) You're the first bride that I have come across on this site that is getting married at the Royal that weekend.

Are you getting married on the beach or gazebo?

I was VERY hesitant to put down $ with no contract. It seemed to have worked out with other girls on this site and Fernando has such good reviews on here. Wish me luck! I'm trying to remain calm and positive.

welcome Connieyan :) as you said I have also heard nothing but great things about Fernando

Giraffex - I think if he has assured you and you spoke with Fernando about it you should stick with him. The deposit is a lot of money to lose sad.gif plus the reviews on him are so good I am pretty sure he would not want to ruin that reputation on here

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
