I think I am going to skip the Save The Date's, and just do the wedding invite. I am planning on sending them out in September this year for my May 24th 2008 wedding. How long to you think I should give to RSVP? I would think it would be a little quicker to secure rooms at the hotel? I have a block of 10 (which we will definately exceed) just to put down the lowest deposit. Any suggestions?

Hmmm.. I don't know, a month? People tend to put things aside and "forget" about them, but they need time to look into travel. We did STD cards when we secured the resort and will be sending out invites in September with a two week window for RSVP..

Sorry if I wasn't any help.

I agree that January is the perfect time to request your RSVP's. Guests should definitely know by then whether or not they will be making the trip. Since guests will have their invites for a while before needing to RSVP, I would put a reminder on your website. Good luck!

We also skipped the STDs and sent out our invitations early (in May for our October wedding). Most people knew about our plans by early March and many had booked before the invites were in the mail. We asked everyone to RSVP by September 1 (so about a month ahead of time). Often there are last minute deals, and we didn't want anyone to feel like they couldn't come unless they decided way in advance. Most people sent the RSVPs back right away, but I think a month will be plently of time to do some minor adjustments for those who wait until the last minutes. So far we have 83 booked...and 15-20 probablies...ikes!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
