Father Benito also fell off the map with me for a little while there... I wrote to my WC and told her and a few days later I got a response back from him finally.. I saw on the thread that she got on him about needing to respond back to me :) nicely of course, since he's a priest and all lol

Thanks Amara3CUS! I even talked to my WC and was like is he alive b/c he was responsive at first but then nothing for months. After I posted, I sent one last ditch email to Father Benito and he FINALLY responded. He said he would send me the ceremony information shortly. I just want to make sure my program reflects what's really happening b/c I've been to weddings where ppl don't know when to stand, kneel, sit and it's so awkward.

Try finding the MP thread and hopefully some of the past, present, or future brides will be able to answer your question!  Happy planning!

Does MP offer a Catholic Ceremony that is legal?  My FI and I were hoping to do everything in Cancun (sort of one stop shop).  Did I miss something when I was reading the information on the website?

Thanks

No it is not legal in Mexico! We are doing a Catholic ceremony at MP, and we were told that we would have to make it legal BEFORE we went down there. They keep church and state totally seperate. Your wedding will be valid in the eyes of the Catholic church, but not legal in the US. Hope that helps! :)

Thank you for the clarification. If it weren't for you ladies I wouldn't know what to plan for. It's a shame Palace resorts can't get their act together and work with us.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
