Not in love with my dress :(

Here's my story:

Last summer I went dress shopping and found one that I absolutly LOVED. It was one of those dresses that you tell everyone about and you already call it "MY dress" It was pretty pricey so I had a dress fund and got a second job so all that money went to "my dress".

This Febuary I went to sample sale at a store and found a pretty cute one for 70% off and bought it now I'm having some serious regrets I didn't buy the first one I loved. Because I bought it off the rack I have it at home and I try it on daily to see if I'll just fall in love with it one day. So far it's not happening sad.gif Think I might have loved the sale more than the dress. What a stupid thing to do!

I really want to go back and get the first dress now but I feel like I already bought one and I should just deal with it. Argggg. My FI actually thinks I should just go back and get the first one too but it's sooooo expensive and now I've already bought one.

WHat to do? I feel really sad that I don't love my dress sad.gif

If would try to resell it on online. There is always craigslist or try a local consignment shop. You may lose a little bit of money but then at least you have something to put toward the dress you really want. It would be upsetting if you don't like the dress.

Thanks ladies. I called a friend and she's coming over tonight to take some pics of it so I can start trying to sell it. I'm just a little upset I made the wrong decision in the first place. I don't think I'll tell anyone I'm doing this and hopefully I can sell it soon.

Ok im really not the best person to comment lol but this happened to me so I thought Id share my thread with you.. http://bestdestinationwedding.com/fo...wedding-52817/. I felt super guilty about my choice right up until even the AHR! LMAO! But I know I found "the one" and when I see the pictures I always smile because it was the right choice. Good luck with your choice!

Don't feel guilty, I think many of us are guilty of doing this....I'm one of them! I ordered a dress online, and when it came I tried to love it (even though my FI had told me that it's ok if it's not right, i could look for another one!) and I even tried to think of ways to alter it so that I would love it, and i just don't. Good luck trying to sell your first dress!

I agree with everyone else. I would sell the dress and buy the one. If you love it that much and you can afford it, why not. As for it being expensive, you can also consider selling it after your wedding to recoup some of your costs. Good luck with your decision.

it's your wedding and you should have the dress you LOVE. i know it seems like a waste of money that you already bought one but you need to go back and get the one you fell in love with. maybe you could sell the one you bought on here (everyone has different views as to what looks good). i really think that if you don't get the one you love you're gonna regret it FOREVER!! remember you'll be looking at those pics for the rest of your life...go for it!!! :)

You have to LOVE your dress. You are going to have literally hundreds, if not 1000 pictures taken of you on your wedding day, plus possibly a TTD session with 2-3 hundred pics. Do you want to look back at your pictures and say "I wish I'd bought that first dress"? there have been so many *2 dress brides* and even *3 dress brides on BDW*...it happens...you won't be the first bride to do this and you won't be the last. Go with your gut and if you can, get the dress you love.

And don't worry....none of us will spill your secret!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
