Hello all!

Our wedding date is set for January 22, 2011 at the Dreams Cancun resort! My fiance and I took our first vacation together there 2 years ago, so when we got engaged 2 months ago in March (while on vacation in Cabo San Lucas), it was a no-brainer...we knew we had to go back to Dreams Cancun! Mexico is kind of "our thing"! We vacation in Mexico 1-2 times per year and of the resorts we have visited or seen pictures of online, we think that the oceanfront gazebo at Dreams Cancun just can't be beat!

We are early on in the planning stages. We created a website using wedsite that is serving as our invitation and way to keep our friends/family updated on the details of our destination wedding. And I did get my dress a couple weeks ago and it is supposed to arrive in August. Looks like we will have about 20-30 guests and most will be staying at Dreams Cancun along with us. Cecilia is our WC and she has been great so far with the email correspondences we have had. Looking forward to the coming months and getting everything a little more figured out! I love reading the reviews on this site and seeing all the amazing pictures from fellow Dreams brides!

Debbie :)

welcome.gif debbie! i loved my wedding at dreams and i'm sure you will too! i worked with claudia, but met cecilia while i was there and she was very sweet.

dreams has changed a bit since you were there last ... they expanded the tower beach and also just recently replaced the gazebo with a newly constructed one (same great location). there are some pics in the dreams cancun thread carolina already pointed you toward.

you'll find tons of info here! happy planning!

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome! I have been doing a lot of "lurking" on this site and finally decided to post and get in on the action now that the date is set and the planning can start!

Cougs...I've read through many of your posts on here and they have been extremely helpful! And yes, I am aware of the new beach, new gazebo, and the latest I heard from Cecilia is that they are remodeling the terrace area soon too. I'm looking forward to all the changes! Not the least bit worried about it! We chose Dreams Cancun because of the wonderful LOCATION of the gazebo and the fantastic service at the resort. I am getting more excited everyday!

yup, the service is fantastic there! they really go out of their way for you ... constantly bending over backward and saying, "it's my pleasure!"

if it's still part of the package, definitely do the private dinner (we did ours out on the pier) ... it was so nice to have a moment alone together without our guests, and the service was amazing. haha our personal waiter kept calling me "the queen" ... another beverage for the beautiful queen? lol seriously tho, it was one of my favorite experiences despite salad blowing all over the place. cheesy.gif

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
