how much time for dancing?

Recommended Posts

here was our timeline:

6:00 ceremony- over at 6:15

6:30-7:30 cocktail hour (we took pics at this time)

7:30-8:30 dinner

8:30-8:45- cake cutting and toasts

8:45-11:00 dancing

well nothing ever runs on schedue and it take poeple a while to really get dancing- so i would recommend starting earlier than you would think you wanted in order to assure that you get enough time to dance and mingle at your wedding- i wish we had started earlier......

she said that sunset is at 6:30, and i'm ok w/ taking pictures before...HOWEVER i definitely don't trust her as far as i can throw her (and she may be 1000 lbs)...we're thinking about moving it up but i'm concerned about k's eyes (very sensitive and i dont want him wearing sunglasses during ceremony and he can't wear contacts)...for the 20 min, he may have to deal!

Good thread. My ceremony is at 3pm. I'm planning for the ceremony to be over by 3:30pm ... so I'm thinking that we'll do cocktails til 4:30-5 while we're getting pics taken. Dinner at 5. I guess we'll go til 6:30 with dinner/cake toasts and then start the dancing til 9pm. At 9 ... that will be early enough for the older guests to turn in and the younger guests to hit the disco/casino. But, we've also thought about just doing appetizers as well since its so costly for a full dinner or buffett for so many guests at our AI. Anyone not doing a full dinner?

Yeah with a february wedding, it will get dark earlier. If it says sunset is at 6:16 then you shouldn't get married then it should be before.

My coordinator said that our sunset is at about 8:00pm so having the cermony at 6:30 is good. I decided to go earlier and have it at 6:00pm. So I would say you should have your ceremony at about 4:30 so that you can do that and then take pics after so that you can get some sunset pics...

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
