You did an awesome job at the review. Love the details and insights. Two thumbs up for that. Your review kinda eased my anxiety. I have 5 months before our wedding and have not done any preparation due to school. *sigh*

You looked gorgeous in all the pictures. Looked like everyone was having a blast and I think that's really important as well! :)

Have a question! :) Did you by chance plan your wedding through the Beaches website where you choose from all of your options? Or not? I am just trying to figure out what may be best here. And we were worried about it being a family resort that it might be overwhelmed with kiddos on the beach - am i completely wrong on that one?

When I did it, you couldn't get stuff through the website. You were assigned a wedding coordinator. I got the majority of things ahead of time because I read a review that said she tried to get flowers when she got down there and they didn't have what she wanted.

Email me if you have any specific questions. I don't check this website very often since the wedding was so long ago: morgan.designblanc@gmail.com

Hey Katie,

I just had a few questions for you about your wedding. Its really hard to get detailed information off the Beaches website.

1. Even with the Beautiful Begennings wedding, whre you able to choose you own colors? or where you stuck with purple?

2. How didit work for you photographer, did you have to choose a package before seeing your photos? or can you wait and see what you like and judge yor printsfrom there?

3. How much did you wedding cost approximatly?

Thank you for answring these questions.

I may be able to answer a few of these as I have just wrapped up making my selections for my Beaches Ocho Rios wedding. With the Beautiful Beginnings theme, mostly everything is white.  There are a lot of things that you can buy a la carte. For example, I am getting an island paradise take without the centerpiece for $100. I purchased the conch shell as my center pieces. The napkins, menu cards, etc. can be done in any color for no extra charge.

i can't answer your photography question as my future sister in law is a photographer :-)

As far as cost, my room for 8 nights is actually more than the wedding! So far my changes, including a 2 hr dinner with open bar, as well as hair and make up, the Bridal Bliss package, an extra cake tier, is about $3500.

hope this helps.

I just got back from my wedding at Beaches Negril.  The beautiful beginnings package is what I went with, and you can choose white or purple.  I did white, it was very nice.

Here is my review of the resort: http://steppingintosuburbia.blogspot.com/2013/04/beaches-negril-review.html

I prepaid for the $1400 wedding photography package.  This included 110 photos.  She took over 400 altogether.  We viewed them the day after the wedding and chose which ones we wanted.  We added 40 more for $200.  They all turned out great.  The photographer is only with you for 2 hours and 1/2 hour before ceremony.  We paid $100 for extra hour so we woud have pictures from reception.

We paid for the 3 hour sit down dinner reception and for a 3 hour DJ.  It was perfect!  Our reception cost $60/person and then $100 for each additional table (one is included with package.)  Each table seats 8 people.  We had 27 people total, including us, so we got free inclusions for have over 10 rooms booked.  We received a free rehearsal dinner under a beach hut, I got a mani/pedi on wedding day free, my fiance got a free massage.  We had an upgraded room, We got a free 1 hour cocktail reception following the cermony (so our reception was 4 hours total.)

So, as far as our wedding, with photography, we paid just under $3800 for our reception, including photography and DJ.  We had 5 children at the reception, 4 were $30 and one was an infant, so he was free.

The cost of our 4 nights at Beaches Negril and then 5 nights for our honeymoon at Sandals Ochos Rios was more than our recption.

It was perfect, wish I could do it all over again!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
