Thanks for the great review! I was especially pleased to hear that you liked the digital books and were able to negotiate about the negatives. I am planning on doing the same thing, and it is reassuring to hear someone else that did not pick out photography prior to getting to the resort.

Congrats and can't wait to see some pictures!

Thanks for the good review. Just wondering where in the ceremony you did the readings. I've been trying to get the answer from Renee and she will not give me a straight answer. I'm trying to do a program and figure out some sort of order.

We invited everyone that was in our group to come, wedding party, family and guests. Aside from a few friends, the majority of people there were the wedding party, dates/husbands/wives, or family members. We would have excluded like 8 people and that seemed silly. So we had everyone that was staying at the Beaches come. Oh, and by random chance, 2 guests who were at Sandals Negril happened to walk up as we were all gathering to go the dinner. We didn't technically invite them, just b/c they were at a Sandals up the road, but it randomly worked out so they joined us too.

The food was a buffet line - a huge variety, salads, fish, chicken, pastas and a whole variety of deserts too. The bar was a FULL open bar (funny b/c the wedding reception was only beer and wine? weird!!!) I think if you qualify for this or want to purchase this, you can ask your coordinator for the food menus and they will send you a file with all the options.

This was one of the perks we got as a group since we booked 10+ rooms. Worked out really well b/c we passed out our family and wedding party gifts, and my parents make a little speech. It was nice for people to get to know each other too.

This is a tough one!! Renee sent me the 3 or 4 potentially different versions of the ceremony that can happen. I just had to play it by ear, and did the readings back to back. I looked over all the types of ceremonies and how they go and just said "f- it" if it didn't go exactly in order I wasn't going to fret. This is how i broke it down.

Thank you all so much! It was a big dress but I loved it too much! Hot and sweaty, trust me, but worth it!

I will try to get a folder of the resort photos we took loaded this week too. All the shutterfly ones in the link are the actual resort photographer too. While they are all not my particular style, I would have picked something different if we were married in Colorado, overall thought she got great portrait shots. Some of my friends took fun detail shots for me too. I was pretty happy with all the pictures she took. I'll let you know how the wedding book turns out too. They seemed pretty nice in the consultation and gift shop.

All in all, it was THE BEST day and I know that I worried about a few things before we left, but honestly, it all worked out so perfectly in the end. I wish we could go back!

Oh, also I am in the midst of trying to find out name change information, in our city/county it is apparently not so easy to use foreign documents. Just a heads up to look into any specifics before you go about the Jamaican documents b/c you might have to go to JP or do a common law anyways. I wasn't expecting that, but turns out our city/county has some interesting rules.

Anyways -- let me know if there is anything else! I will try to get our other resort photos / rehearsal dinner photos up before the weekend!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
