So happy that it all worked out for you!! Congratulations!!
Thanks! Everything was great.... You are going to LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Matthew. I can't explain it but you will know when you meet him what I mean.

  • 4 months later...

Congratulations on your wedding in April, everything looked amazing.

I would love your help with the planning.  I'm a bit overwhelmed.  How did you start the whole process?  How did you get in touch with all your vendors?

I would appreciate all the help you could give.

Thank you,

Leah

Well, I knew I wanted to get married on the beach so it was pretty easy for me. Luckily I called Luciano's 1st, which is where I had my reception, they were great! They gave me tons of advise and a list of preferred vendors. I then just started calling people and looking on the internet for places.

I would email or call everyone, see what they had to say and see what I thought about reaction time and things like that. After that, it's just asking around and checking the internet for reviews. The people here helped allot too. If you need anything else let me know. When you ask how to get started it's a tough question to answer :) Once you have a plan it is pretty easy. Do you have a plan?

Thank you for replying.  I appreciate all the advice.

We were thinking about doing a destination wedding to be fun for our friends and family and to be more affordable.  We want to get married in the Bahamas because it's one of the few islands that has a Greek Orthodox church.  We were planning on doing the ceremony at the church then doing a reception at the hotel we were all going to stay.  I read your review and we have put Luciano's as one of our options.

What I guess I'm overwhelmed with is when we priced things out for the reception at some places it was more expensive than I thought.  We originally thought of Atlantis but it is way out of our price range.  It probably would be more than a NY wedding when you add up everything.

It's just hard to coordinate things from NY.  I think I will feel more comfortable when we do a site visit and I could meet some people and see some places.  I will have to do what you had suggested and just research things and trust people.

If possible can you give me some of the prices for the vendors you used?

Thanks again!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
