Planning is going good here!!  I'm just realizing all of the little details that I need to get finished up on...  I actually just found a vendor on etsy that I am probably going to use to wrap everything up (mainly because I'm about at my end with DIY projects :oP).  I still need placecards for dinner, welcome tags for the OOT bags and stickers for my photoshare camera card (I cut out actual camera shapes with my cricuit, but had no clue how I was going to put a label on them and don't feel like putting forth the effort anymore lol).  I also need to print out and put together my welcome books for the OOT bags. oh ugh...and my programs!!!  Maybe i'll find someone for that too lol.  I want to do a fan program (not raffia but the paper kind that fan out), but I'm seriously not feeling like doing that myself either...haha.  Am I becoming a lazy bride!?!?!

Just had to say jszy10, you aren't becoming a lazy bride...there's a ridiculous amount of planning that goes into a destination wedding (as you well know) but I promise it'll be 150% worth it in the end!

Definitely not lazy!   We just get so many GREAT ideas here that we HAVE to have that it makes it difficult to DIY for all of them! :)  I can't wait to see all of your goodies!

I'm still working on old, new, borrowed, blue...I actually HATE the color blue (weird I know), but I'll have to have it somewhere hidden.

25 days for me!  Although we're doing a civil ceremony here first, a week before, so...really 18 days!  Wow!  We got our license yesterday...very real now!

I know that feeling Jess - I feel like I've hit a wall.  It's been go, go, go and some days I just want to not even think about the wedding.

I got the Hanky Panky panties that say "I do" - probably very similar to the VS ones.  but I wear HP on a regular basis so I wanted to stick with something I know is comfy.  I got some cute VS undies for that evening that have a little veil attached to the butt.  A few months ago FI and I were at the mall and there was a big poster in the VS window with them. He stopped and said "THAT'S what you need to get for the wedding."  So at least I know he'll like it.

My to-do list doesn't seem so bad anymore but will be time consuming.  i feel like most are appointments - things I do on a regular basis but are all being crammed in to pre-wedding time.  I just got a facial last night, have booked hair color, cut and Keratin and need to book eyebrow wax and mani/pedi.  Luckily thanks to laser hair removal years ago I don't need to schedule any other waxing.  For the wedding I'm having someone from the Nassau Bobbie Brown come to the hotel (that's what I normally wear) so I want to go over to one of their counters and play around a bit with colors.  I have 2 more trips to the bridal shop - one to try the dress on after alterations are complete and then to pick it up after they steam and pack it.  I'm just so glad I chose the shop that's walking distance from my office - I had no idea how many times I'd be there.

As for shopping, I would like some more clothes - I want  new dress for the rehearsal dinner and some fun stuff for other days/nights plus honeymoon.  But it's not the end of the world if I don't.  I know I have stuff in my closet that will work.  I have to buy my sister's necklace - I'm getting her the Tiffany starfish one but they only have a 30 day return policy so I wanted to wait a few weeks so she at least has some opportunity to return it is she doesn't like it.  All the other bridal party gifts are done - some I'm waiting to receive in the mail but at least its purchased and done.

Most of my OOT contents are complete other than the welcome brochure but I keep updating that so I will print it last minute.  The bags are scheduled to be delivered today so I'm very excited to see them when I get home.  Then I really just to need to organize everything - not necessarily pack, but at least get it all together.  I have some extra stuff since people backed out after RSVPing - no need to lug all that with me.  I'm also waiting for some hats - we are having baseball caps made for everyone and the guy I'm dealing with has been kinda flaky.  I first went middle of April and its been dragging out forever.  now he's moving his shop so he can't get to it until afterwards.  I know it will be done in time, but I'd have liked it earlier so I could wrap it all up and be done.

Other than that, most of my DIY projects are done...unless I see something inspiring here and take on a new project.  I do need to write vows and do a seating chart now that our guest count should be pretty final.  We also need to practice our first dance - we tried a little last night and kept messing up.  I need Dancing with the Stars.  I'm sure there is other stuff I just can't think of.  I need to confirm all the vendors other than the ones booked through the resort.  Our wedding bands are ordered and we should have those early June.

Lastly I need to focus on the honeymoon - the major stuff is booked - flights, hotels, rental cars, but I think I need to make some reservations for certain activities.  I asked FI what he wants to do and his answer was "whatever you want."  So no help there.

Jess - good luck with the program fans.  I tried doing those and it was awful!  I think I've done pretty well with DIY but that was a complete bomb.  Part of the problem was that I was alternating between blue and white paper so when the fan was together you could see all the uneven edges.  When fanned out it looked OK though.  But also, even though I used thick cardstock, when the pieces are cut they are flimsy and just flopped around.  I spent a ton of time on it (my bad for not doing a test run first) and threw it all in the trash.  But I love my new programs which are just square (posted in DIY forum)

Ok, better get back to work.  Lots to do.

Alisa, did you make your own programs?!? Do you have a pic!?!  The program is really my last DIY project and I'm having trouble finding the motivation.  I'm starting to think a plain program might be the way to go.  I'm going to check yours out Steph, thanks.

Alisa...nevermind!!  I found yours..and that is the exact template that I filled out!  Did you print it on regular card stock and it was sturdy enough? I was hoping to back mine with orange or blue to make them stand out, but that seems like to much extra work!?

I've read that photographers don't need to be tipped if they have their own company... do you agree?  What about the coordinator?  What's a fair tip?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
