Love the ring bowl!  I ordered one from Paloma's Nest - same idea but not as colorful.  I had a custom saying put on ours with the date and replaced the string with a pretty blue ribbon to match our colors.

Jenn - if your dress is close to white (my ivory is hardly ivory looking) then try switch flops - I am obsessed with these.  You can really jazz up the shoe to be anything you want.  You can even try it out on-line to see what looks good together.

Wow, I feel like I have so much to reply to today!

Jessica, your bowl is adorable! Very unique and what a great keepsake. Just imagine looking at that bowl 50 years from now. How special!

Girl! I saw your post in the "show off your shoes" thread and I was dying to find out where those barefoot sandals came from. I'm taking this as a sign - must order!

Per your question on barefoot...I design barefoot beach jewelry (for Brides & Bridesmaids), so it's another option in case you'd like to save the heels for the reception and walk down the beach aisle with your feet sparkling in foot jewels (this is what I did)!  Here is my page on here for [Red-i] By Chelsea: Exotic Travel-Inspired Destination Wedding Jewelry as well as my site! I'm happy to customize any orders as well and I can do a quick turnaround time!

Jenn,

You've got some last minute work cut out for you but I'm sure you'll find all of the advice that you need here! Hehe. For me, I made a last minute decision to switch my wedding ceremony from gazebo to beach, so I'll be skipping shoes completely (or going for the barefoot sandals above!) for the ceremony, but I have some HOT heels for the cocktail hour and reception. In my opinion, if you're getting married in the sand, go big or go home. No flip flops for me. msnwink.gif But, that's really a personal choice.

For your playlist, is it for the reception? Do you have a theme set for your music? I am just wrapping up my playlist and it's a really cool, relaxed, reggae/bossa nova type of thing... Are you thinking relaxed dinner music or hoppin party music? I had fun with that part.

Welcome letter, there are plenty of examples to peruse and take the words that express what you feel and put them down on paper in your own way. I found it helpful to read a few other people's just so that I knew that I was on the right track...

OOT bag, I don't think it's a bad idea to ditch the bags and do a gift instead. Whatever you think will be more useful and express your gratitude to your guests will be best. Do you have a gift or a price point per guest in mind??

Also, I voted for you! Best of luck!! Here's hoping our fellow June bride wins cheers.gif

Agh...I still haven't figured out my new, old, borrowed, blue.  here's what I have:

old:  nothing!!!!!  I guess my e-ring is technically a year old now, but I'd rather have something better

new:  pretty much everything - dress, shoes, jewelry, undergarments, etc

borrowed:  hair pins from my friend's wedding but I think I'm changing my hairstyle and the new one won't accommodate it.  She also lent me her purse (a pretty mother of pearl clutch) so that will do even though I'm not wearing it for the ceremony

Blue: Temporary tattoo (ordered from the Knot)  It will be placed somewhere visible only to fiance - either lower back or hip.

Fun!!

Old: I thought I could use my earrings and necklace, since I bought them last year in Mexico...but apparently that doesn't count! haha...so I'm thinking I might wear a diamond ring on my right hand that was passed down to my mother by her great aunt...but I'm a little afraid of wearing another diamond ring??  Would that be wierd?  I also have a pearl ring that my mother passed down to me that I would wear?

New:  duh! haha...everything!!

Borrowed: My mother is giving me a pearl bracelet to wear, also on my right

Blue:  I have cute VS undies that say "bride" in blue!

Hey ladies!

How is everyones planning coming along?  We are really getting down to the wire.  I leave in 2.5 weeks, it is so crazy!

I am pretty much done, I just need to finish a few last minute things.  I still need to find a flower for my hair, a dress for rehearsal dinner, finish the table designations, make tags for our maracas that we are doubling as place card holders, book the cigar roller and I think that is it!!

My old and borrowed:  A blue sapphire and diamond ring that was passed down to my mom that I am going to wear on my right hand.

My new: Dress, shoes, etc.

My blue: VS undies that have bride written in blue on them.  (Jess we probably have the same ones!)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
