10 weeks to go and I feel like I have so much to do!  Funny how I thought I had so much time at the beginning.  We got the major stuff out of the way early but here's my list of to-do's now:

1.  Get in shape!!!!!  I started this early then fell off the wagon and now I'm restarting from a worse point than before .  Ugh!  Just signed up with a trainer last week and trying to eat better.  I want to lose about 10 pounds but would really be happy with 5 if I was just more toned.

2.  Dress fitting won't be until beginning of June - I was late ordering so hopefully there will be no delays.  My plan B is that the sample in the store was my size so if it doesn't come in on time I'm going to bribe them into selling me the store sample.

3.  Buy MOH and ring bearer gifts.  I have this picked out at least - was just holding off because you know as soon as you buy something it either goes on sale or you see something you like better.

4.  Buy wedding bands - I'm going to force the fiance to go next week.  I think we're pretty late on that too.

5.  Prepare OOT bags and various other DIY projects that are contingent on the final guest list (RSVP deadline is April 18th although I have a feeling I'll be chasing a lot down after that).

6.  Buy clothes for the non-wedding events over the weekend (rehearsal dinner, brunch) including lingerie.

7.  Write wedding vows

8.  Prepare seating chart (soooo not looking forward to that)

9.  Complete men's attire - clothes are purchased (tan linen pants and white linen shirt from Nordstrom) but they need to buy their shoes.

10.  Create iPOD playlist for out welcome gathering.

11.  Honeymoon planning - flights, hotel and car already booked, but we need to make reservations for excursion type things.

12.  Follow up and final planning with WC - we pretty much did everything but I think the WCs are so busy with other clients that they don't start finalizing all the details until about a month beforehand.

I was going to have an "engagement" party beforehand for all the people show can't attend (instead of and AHR) but now it's looking like I won't be able to fit it in.  I'm not having a shower or bachelorette so this was supposed to be instead of that.  Oh well.

That doesn't seem TOO bad!!  :o)  I have a lot of little things to wrap up with as well, but I'm not too stressed as of late.

The important stuff for me are:

(1) Get groom's suit jacket tailored

(2) Dress fittings

(3) Put together mine and bridesmaid's bouquets/groomsman bout's

(4) Figure out groomsmen gifts!?!?!?!  My FI is clueless on this, and I kind of am too!  Any suggestions? What are you guys doing?  The FI is taking them on a Deep Sea Fishing Trip before the wedding in Mexico, but we want to give them something else too.  I bought my girls like 5 or 6 things! haha

(5) AHR details -- tags for favors, make centerpieces, placecards and seating chart (most of this can't be done until I have final replies into June anyway!)

I'd still like to get a few more dresses for the honeymoon too...you can never have too many of those! :o)

Oh girls, I have a laundry list too!

1. Dress fittings - dress should be here by the beginning of May

2. Find a flower for my hair, I am not doing a veil.

3. Create signature cocktails for our Welcome Cocktail Party

4. Seating chart and with that comes tags for the maracas (we are using those as our seat card holder)

5. Table designation - name or number?  If name, any suggestions?

6. Finalize menu for the reception and apps for the cocktail party.

7. Order OOT bags

8. Order personalized stadium cups for OOT bags

9. Gm gifts, we also need ideas!  And like you Jess, I got my girls a bunch of things!

9. Finalize DJ playlist and harpist playlist. We need ideas for the last song..

10. Assemble hangover kits.

11. Gifts for the Parents, any ideas?

12. Write our vows

13. Create newsletter with pertinent info to send out in about 2 weeks

14. Have FI book the deep sea fishing trip for the boys

15. Card box? Is anyone else doing this?

16. Order customized hanger from etsy

17. Garter

18. Cake cutting utensils

19. Menus? Are you girls doing menus for each table of you are having a buffet? I worry that I will spend a bunch of time on them and then the resort will change something on the menu at the last minute.

20.  Cake boxes.  Duff from Charm City Cakes/Ace of Cakes is a personal friend and he is bringing our cake.

I think that is all for now....

Steph-

I had my RSVP date as March 15th and I am still chasing some down, so that is perfectly normal!

(1)  I have tables numbers that I got from another BDW bride -- they are a picture of the sand/ocean water with the number written in the sand.  I can email them to you if you want to check them out!

(2)  I bought my dad this picture frame -- http://www.bridesvillage.com/princess-bridal-frame.html, and my mom is getting the same necklace/earring combo, along with a bracelet

(3) I bought my custom hair flower (she even make matching smaller ones for my girls) and garter from etsy vendors..if you want their names I can give them to you.  I was VERY happy with everything!

I used those same tables numbers as Jessica!  I printed them on white cardstock and then glued that to a larger piece of turquoise cardstock.  Now I just have to find something to hold them - like those little wire photo holders.

I played around with different cocktails for my signature drink and think i have that settled - I wanted a blue drink so I could call it "Something Blue" and coincidentally our wedding colors are shades of blue.  i tried so many combos and a lot ended up too green or too strong - I'm afraid to serve a martini type drink during cocktail hour when there is just hors d'heuorves.  The drink will be vodka, lemonade and Blue Curacao shaken and served over ice.

I'm pretty sure our last song is going to be "These are the Days" by 10,000 Maniacs.  I think its a good way to sum it all up.

We're not doing a card box.  I haven't figured out exactly what we will do with any envelopes yet.  My fiance is Italian and its their custom for the bride to have a money bag but I soooo do not want to do that.

We're having a buffet so no menus although I am working on ceremony programs right now.  Raffia isn't easy to work with.

No ideas for grooms gifts.  The guys are my fiance's sons and brother and he's paying for their whole wedding weekend - flight, hotel, clothes, shoes, etc so he's like "hell no I'm not getting them a gift - THAT is their gift."  his one son keeps mentioning wanting a flask.

Alisa - I can't believe you are having a Duff cake - I am so jealous!!!!!!!

Thanks, ladies!  I'm going back again in May and may remove the inner corset so it doesn't make my hips look so big :)

Please post your pics when you go in for your fittings!!

We are finally getting boys' attire this weekend!  Time is flying!

Awesome job with P90X - I've heard lots of great things about it!  I was "dieting" and doing Jazzercise for a while, but I fell off the wagon after my boudoir pics :)  I told myself I'd get back on the wagon next week at the exact 2 month mark ;)

I got my garter from Simply Weddings -- http://www.etsy.com/shop/SimplyWeddings.  She did an amazing job and even added my bridesmaid's dress color behind the lace to give it something extra.

Looks like you've been busy, Chris!

You'll have to post pics of everything and all of your festivities.  We're not having bacherlor/bachelorette parties because all of my friends are pregnant and my FI is a baseball coach with the season leading right into when we leave.  :(

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
