Ooo Lisa you are officially 5 months tomorrow!!  When I say 5 months, it still sounds so far!  But when I look at my planner, it feels like it will be here before we know it!  You sound like you are all set!!  I am having my first dress fitting in February most likely!  I haven't really had much trouble with The Knot, what are you having problems with?

Erin,

I'm not having a DJ.  We are debating on what we want to do for music for our welcome cocktail party, but I have heard of people taking IPod docs and playing a playlist and liking it all the same.  We are either going to do that or have a mariaci band?  As for our wedding day, we are just planning on going to the 'disco' at our resort for dancing.  I am only having 17 guests and am not doing a private reception either (mainly because we are having an AHR a week after we get back, and we need to conserve some money for that PARTY!!)

I am having a shower and mine will most likely be in either late April or early May!  My sister-in-law (and bridesmaid) is due with their first baby in mid-April, so with her shower next month and the baby doon soon after, I feel like time will fly!

That was kind of my thought too, but I just thought we might miss all the special dances - or, kind of have to orchestrate it ourselves which didn't sound like fun.  We aren't having an AHR, so I'm thinking a DJ might be worth it for those moments :)

I also have a good friend who is expecting - due in April - so I know what you mean about time flying!

I know what you mean about not wanting to miss out on that.  I am having an AHR, so it's not a big deal to me to do it in mexico.  I'm not sure if your resort offers this, but ours offers the option of renting an IPod dock and microphone for a fraction of the price of a DJ (ie. $200-300 vs. over $1000!!).  Then you could always ask your parent or a friend to introduce your first dance and the other dances!?

I think it is all in your preference on if it is worth it for those moments! I can definitely see your point in having one if you aren't having an AHR.

We are the same, we're having a big AHR when we are back so not to bothered about a reception out there. We will have our evening meal in a section of an al a carte rest at the hotel and then move onto the piano lounge after. We will do our first dance etc at our AHR. So looking forward to it all. Time is just flying by now :o) xx

I know!  151 more days (thanks to The Knot for my countdown)!  I am having trouble with posting pictures and links.  My pictures were posted and visible for the first few weeks, but then they mysteriously disappeared.  I also haven't figured out how to post website links -- have you had any luck with any of this?

Thanks!

I haven't had problems uploading any pictures.  I'm not sure what you mean about posting website links??  I was just typing in the full URL into the text screen and it works fine.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
