Any Barcelo Premium Punta Cana Brides?

Recommended Posts

I have been trying to find reviews and info regarding this resort and the most current ones are from 2007. So if anybody has gone to a wedding there or is planning one at Barcelo Premium please let me know. The reviews I have read about the resort are all over the place.

Thanks

I have toured this hotel and wasn't very impressed. It looks quite nice from the outside, but there isn't much to say about it after that. Half of the rooms are renovated and they are fine, but the other half are not something I would invite guests to stay in (moldy, ripped bedspread, tiles missing from bathroom). The food left a lot to be desired, as well. I was told by some other people who were staying there that the dinner restaurants are pretty good, but the buffet is open so there are bird droppings and flies all around. I must say the pool area is nice. They have a kids pool with a slide and a flying trapeze area, as well. That was pretty cool. If you are looking for something on a budget and you don't have picky guests it is a fine option, but otherwise you might want to look elsewhere.

I was looking into the Barcelo resorts as well... specifically the Barcelo Bavaro Palace Deluxe. The reviews on tripadvisor go both ways. People have said that if you go, stay at the Palace Deluxe because that is the newest section. I would love any opinions or reviews from people who have been there as well! Thanks!

I heard some iffy reviews on it. I chose a few resorts for my travel agent to get me prices on and I thought since the reviews were mediocre for Barcelo that it would've been one of the cheaper prices. It turned out it was more expensive then the Palladium (which I originally wanted). So we ended up booking the Palladium. Good luck with your decision though. Your day will be beautiful no matter where it is!

We were looking into the Barcelo Palace Deluxe which looked beautiful, but I was just nervous with people's reviews that we opted out of it. Hope that helps some!

CCM--I've been having second thoughts about booking there. Have not been able to find anyone who actually had their wedding there. And you're right, the reviews are all over the place. Interested to know what you learned. :)

Thanks!

We stayed at this resort this past January and loved it so much that we have now booked our wedding there for January 2012.  A large part of the hotel was just renovated in Deember 2010 and it was fabulous.  There were many different restauruants to dine at with very good food.  The service was a bit slow but we were on holidays and didn't mind too much.  Our travel agent advises us that there are more reno's going on now that will be done in November 2011 which will bring the rooms by the Casino up to date.  We have not been successful in communicating with teh wedding co-ordinator at the resort, my emails have yet to be answered which scares me a little but since we liked the resort we are not too worried about it yet.

We just got married there on March 28, 2011 and LOVED everything about it!!!! Ariana is the wedding coordinator there and she did an amazing job, we couldn't have asked for better. The photographer was AMAZING. I can't stop looking at our pictures. The beach set up was so gorgeous, it looked like something out of a magazine. She was so organized and I put my complete trust in her. Everything went so smoothly and we got treated like royalty. We had a suite in the newly renovated area that was beautiful, breakfast in bed, candle lit dinner on the beach. It was all perfect and very very reasonably priced. Do not be worried about the communicating part. Which email are you using? Closer to the date you will be contacted by her almost weekly, about 5 months before is when we started receiving many emails.

We've been working with Ariana as well--she typically responds back to emails within a few days. I'm glad to hear that you started getting all the details worked out 5 months in advance--we are at the 6 month mark. :)

Did you use the resort's photographer? And did you happen to pay the extra $50 for the beach bonfire? We're thinking about taking the wedding reception out to the beach after dinner. Are there any suggestions or recommendations you would make? Thanks in advance!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
