Hello all! I am Char and I am the Mother of the Bride. I am helping her research as much as I can and sending any suggestions you have her way. They are looking at Feb 2011, I think the tentative date is Feb 19th. She thinks there will be about 30-40 attending, we will have a better idea once she gets out some feelers..

Ok brides that have been there, done that, can you please recommend which hotels were reasonable, service oriented, and efficient. As well which travel agents you used? We are also looking at Aruba, Costa Rica, and Belize..

We are looking for:

Swim up pool

People flying from multiple destinations from both Canada and USA.

Reasonable rates for guests, trying to get them their (flight and room) for about $1000. to $1500.

Good wedding coordinator

Great photographer

Shopping and amenities close by

NOT a long ride from airport. 15-20 min max.

Thanks for any suggestions...

Char

Welcome to the forum and congrats on your daughter's engagement. It's great you are on here helping her with the wedding plans! I suggest you narrow down your search to one location, then search the threads about that location. From there you can research the resorts and find those that fit your criteria. Punta Cana is full of so many different types of hotels, ranging in amenities and price. I'm getting married at the Paradisus Palma Real- a bit pricey but I love it. The Paradisus Punta Cana is also great and might fit your requirements. I also looked into Dreams and Excellence in Punta Cana. Try using the search function- it's great! Good luck and enjoy your planning.

That is so great of you to be helping your daughter this way. Your requests seem to match those of Dreams Palm Beach in Punta Cana where we are getting married next March. I can't speak about the photographer yet but the wedding coordinator Melani has been great in answering my questions. You may want to look into this resort.

The Moon Palace Resort in Punta Cana is AMAZING!! and reasonably priced. I just got back from there a couple of weeks ago. I can't say enough great things about it. Everything from the food to the service to the rooms was excellent. I photographed a wedding there & the ceremony site & reception site were both stunning (located within the resort).

The resort doesn't have any photos on their website so I didn't know what to expect prior to arriving. If you'd like to see photos, go here:

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
