Villas Sur Mer

Recommended Posts

WOW! Just returned from our wedding in Negril at Villas Sur Mer and let me tell you - nothing compares! After booking at The Caves and visiting there twice we were so fed up with the terrible service we cancelled all and rebooked here. Go to Villas Sur Mer - On the cliffs in Negril, Jamaica and you'll see what I mean. This place is spectacular and completely private so no competing with other brides. It has it's own private pool and hot tub, staircase to the ocean and secluded tanning spot ocean side and the most amazing staff. The decor is almost Zen-like and no expense was spared in the architecture or interior design of this locale. It is a 6 bedroom private villa and each room has it's own private and large ensuite.

Thanks to Ari of jamaicanjourneys/weddingsinnegril who turned us onto this amazing spot on the cliffs next to Rick's. Our guests were absolutely blown away by Villas Sur Mer and our wedding party loved sharing it with us over the 3 days we were there. We're planning to return again and again.

Did I tell you the staff were great? That's an understatement - they are discreet and courteous, friendly and wait on you like a queen. I travel to Negril 2-3 times a year and researched alot of places there both for the wedding and guest accommodation and I promise you it's the Jewel of Negril.

The beds and linens are top quality and comfortable beyond belief, the cocktail area we used across the road at their sister property was truly out of a magazine - like a private rainforest complete with pool and 20-person hottub that created a setting to die for.

There are super large hammocks and a 12 person outdoor dining table, loungers and outdoor speakers - well I could just go on and on. Ladies, as much as I'd like to keep this place a secret I urge you to check it out - you won't be disappointed. Thanks again to Ari - The best wedding planner this side of North America!

Yes I am getting married at VSM next April! So far so good - everything looks divine and compared to other non-AIs on the cliffs it seems to offer the MOST amenities. Not to mention Ari is the best!! I'm actually glad my original plan didn't work out! Someone told me to imagine the W chain of hotels but on the water. Once I heard that, I was sold!

Please do post pics soon PALZ - can't wait to see them!

Hi. Loved hearing the review of beautiful Villas Sur Mer. My fiance and I are looking at it as an option for our Nov. 2012 destination wedding but I'm concerned it will be a budget buster. Is it comporable to other properties in that area? I'm having a hard time finding a place I love because they are either booked or having requirements about guests staying on property, which we're trying to avoid. We are currently down to two options: Negril Escape and Villas Sur Mer.

Any info you have (and are comfortable sharing) about price would be greatly appreciated.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
