Yeah- my FI thought it (14-16 range) was negligable so we didn't put it. :P

We have already gotten quotes for February 2012 (which is when we would like to get married)- they quotes are pretty high at about 1900! For a week at Excellence Punta Cana including airfare from Toronto/Ottawa. We would love to find a package between 1500-1800 and still get an awesome resort.

Thanks for the advice- I think we might wait until we are closer but probably not 6-9 months as I would have a panic attack by then..

The rates at Dreams Palm Beach for my guests ranged between $760 - $850 for 3 nights including airfare depending on where they were flying in from. Most of my guests are coming in from NJ and FL. These rates are for this upcoming weekend, we leave tomorrow.

Our resort is a 5 star resort..and our guests are paying about 245/night per couple or 195/night per single adult. We have yet to get any complaints about the prices. Except for the flights which seem to be a little pricey (about 700 round-trip)

TRose, do you mind sharing what perks you got? A couple TAs I'm working with gave me prices and said their company is offering 21st guest for free but aside from that, NOTHING. I'm not sure if it's because I need to then negotiate upgrades, free weddings, etc. with the wedding coordinator directly?...or if that's something my TA should be doing for me...

My group booked with the early booking bonus, and they are paying $108 + $309.00 tax which is quite reasonable!! We are getting married at Dreams Punta Cana by the way.

I just wantewd to say something to you as a side note... we originally wanted to get married in Jamaica, very badly actually and some of our guests complained about the cost being too high, so we switched it. Those guests did not end up booking anyway!! SO we kind of compromised, even though I am happy with our choice. Just wanted to say to not compromise too much for a few people, because those who are supposed to be there will book regardless, especially if you give them enough notice they are able to save. Good luck!

Our guests are paying between $1500-1900 depending on which part of Canada they are departing from. Avg cost is $1700 for 1 week (flight & resort) for Majestic Colonial.

Guests have to remember they will be paying more than the last minute seat sales b/c you do need to book in advance to ensure there is enough space for all the guests.

My TA gave me this analogy: When you buy a dress in the spring, you love and pay full price. In the fall, it goes on clearance, but the number of dresses/sizes are small. You may get a better price, but not necessarily the right size and some maybe be sold out. I hope that makes sense when explaining to guests why the prices are higher than what they're used to seeing?

If you take the time to explain to guests how pricing works, they usually are more understanding and are more willing to pay more.

Good luck!

Lisa

We are getting married at Beaches Negril and have two resort options for our guests: Beaches Negril and Beaches Sandy Bay. Here is our rate table based on # of nights staying and # of people in each room. I think it is pretty reasonable. The resorts are all inclusive and you can use the amenities at both resorts. There is also a free shuttle that goes back and forth. These do not include airfare but we expect it be around $300/$400 depending on the city you fly out of. Hopefully this ends up legible...

Beaches Negril

# of People/Room 1 2 3 4

3 Nights Adult/Person $978 $678 $540 $470

4 Nights Adult/Person $1,304 $904 $719 $627

5 Nights Adult/Person $1,630 $1,130 $899 $784

Beaches Sandy Bay

# of People/Room 1 2 3 4

3 Nights Adult/Person $737 $467 $390 $352

4 Nights Adult/Person $983 $623 $520 $469

5 Nights Adult/Person $1,229 $779 $650 $586

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
