Hi Ladies, We took our engagement pics in San Juan in December. I loved my photographer. If you want to see them, you can go to our website at http://www.jadicaandravyn.com. You will have to put your identifying info in to get on the site. Put BDW behind it so I'll know who you are. When you go, they are on the photo tab. If you like them, send me a PM and I will forward you our photographer's contact email. Good luck!

Hi there!

We are getting married in San Juan, PR in Dec. 2011. We are having trouble deciding which hotel package to go with! Any advice or suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated! We are currently deciding between Marriott Stellaris resort and casino, Intercontinental in Isla Verde, and La Concha Renaissance. All have provided somewhat comparable packages but we haven't been to any of the resorts. We will be holding both the ceremony and reception at the hotel.

Thanks!!

I'm getting married in San Juan, PR one month from today!  We are doing it at the Marriott Resort and Stellaris Casino.  We went there a few weeks ago to check everything out and do the tasting...It was wonderful!  We have no complaints at all.  The event manager there, Susanna, was great!  She had everything set up for us and answered all of our questions.  We are having the ceremony on the beach and the reception on the upper pool deck terrace.  They are very close to each other, so it's very easy for guests.

The hotel is also about a ten minute cab ride from the airport and costs $15, very reasonable.  It's also so easy to get into Old San Juan from there, just about a ten minute cab ride as well.  You can bargain with the cab drivers when there are numerous people going in the same cab.

There is also a newly renovated restaurant in the bottom of the hotel, La Vista.  It is pretty trendy and cute now, compared to what it used to be.  They have a brunch buffet there every morning, we are having the farewell brunch there on that Sunday.  They have a side room that can be reserved.

We also tried to do it at La Concha in the beginning because it looks wonderful and we thought it would be beautiful for a wedding.... but they had TERRIBLE service and we ultimately decided against it.  Since it is newer, it seemed like there was a lot of inexperienced staff and not as organized as the Marriott.  They didn't return our calls and were not responsive whatsoever.  But that was my experience, maybe they have changed, I'm not sure, but I just want to give you honest feedback!

I didn't look into the Intercontinental so I don't know anything about that one.  I hope this helps!  Good luck with everything.  I have a wonderful wedding planner and vendors as well, let me know if you want names!

Hi - We are planning a May 2012 wedding in Puerto Rico. Visiting next month to check out resorts. We are staying at El San Juan - Waldorf Astoria. I'm meeting with the Wedding Coordinator there as well as, Ritz, La Concha, Intercontinental and El Conquistador -- even though I'd prefer to be close to Old San Juan. Any feedback/suggestions. Vendors that you loved? Questions I should ask when I visit? Any advice/opinions is appreciated :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
