Any 2012 brides out there?

You can definitely relax for a little while! You've gotten a lot accomplished.

We just took our engagement pictures yesterday, in record breaking heat! I had the help of my MOH team though, thank God, so I think they're going to turn out great! I hope we'll love so many of them that'll it be hard to choose. We plan to use one of the pictures for our save the dates.

Congrats to you as well, Can't wait to hear all about your planning for the next year!  My sister gave us our engagement photo session as a gift.  We had so much fun with it and I absolutely LOVE the way they turned out.  We had such a hard time choosing which ones we wanted. We just ordered our favorite one as a canvas, I can't wait until it's ready.  Hope you enjoy yours!

Oh and I just booked Pastor York.  So if nothing else at least I have the ceremony site and the Pastor! woot2.gif

@Andreanna, i belive Dream is adults only. I looked at their packages, they do great job with wedding. But we had to go with the resort that allows kids, unless im thinking about the one in Punta Cana

Despite not being until October 2012, I wanted to at least have a location picked out. We thought we'd go with Dreams La Romana (as FH REALLY loves Dreams Resorts) but our travel agent has doubts that we'll be able to get there for the dates we want but she says that there is no way to know for sure until April 2012.

Am I unreasonable to not want to wait a year before knowing if that is the location of our wedding? Because all I keep hearing is that we are just too damn early.

Date, location. Seems basic enough. We simply want to give people enough time to save and plan. That was the whole point of getting engaged so early.

Just in case, I have been looking at other resorts. FH is set on Dreams, and I want a smaller resort, so our choices are limited by our own stubbornness. The date is special to us as it would be our 5th anniversary, so again, not something we'd want to change.

I know it's a petty thing, but the frustration at people telling me to wait is building. Since when did being decisive or firm mean you were unreasonable or a bridezilla? The whole point of DW is to relax and enjoy it, no? Alas, my own brain is trying to intercede.

Anyone else getting the "you're too early" shpeel? How are you dealing with it?

Ladies, i know some airlines are not posting there schedule up untill 6mnth. We are trying to book Oct 2012, around labor day. When do you think they will post air options? And also are you using a travel agent that your guests can go through? i heard with jetblue you can reserve so many seats on the plane with price match guarantee, did anyone hear anything about it?

Nope, Dreams is definitely a family friendly place. We've got several little ones and a few teens coming, so we had to make sure of this.

I was told that we would be able to book airlines 11 months before our date. Yes we are using a TA that our guests can use and if they are all flying out of the same airport she said she maybe able to get them a group rate as well...

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
