Josh and I are getting married on February 11, 2012

Hope I wont be the 2012 lone-wolf for long.

:)

Dont worry, sooner or later the few 2012 threads that are out there right now - will be at the front of the line like the 2010 brides are now. Its only a year and a half away - thats not sooooo bad.

I am planning mine for Jan 2012 - initially it was for Jan 2011 but we had to bump it due to some family travel plans.

We are the new black right now - but there is light at the end of the tunnel!

Maggie - love the invites - I will def be looking on etsy to see what they have. I thought about doing my own - but I think it may end up costing me more in the long run - and a lot of my time too.
Thanks for posting that!!

Hello all :)

I've been reading posts on here for a couple of months now and just came across this thread.. which is awesome!! People look at me as if I'm crazy when they hear I'm already starting to plan my wedding, which isn't for 2 years! lol -- we're planning for April 2012

We got engaged on the night of Valentines day of this year (but technically the cusp of V day and Family day).

Our engagement party is on June 5th in my parents backyard and I was thinking of giving out save the dates the the guests, but I also liked the idea of the Christmas card!

Even though it's 2 years away I feel like there is so much planning that should be started asap to avoid stress!

What do you ladies have planned so far?

Just wanted to proclaim from the rafters - I got ENGAGED last night - finally I can actually truly plan my wedding. Dont get me wrong - I have been doing so for the past 9 months on this site, buying things, DIY's etc...but it wasnt the same. Now I feel like I have the freedom to do whatever ....Ahhhhhh! So happy!!!!!

I totally agree, planning ahead can avoid stress. At the same time it gets frustrating at times because prices tend to change or this or have not been released yet, etc.
I think if all your guests will be at the engagement party why not do it then. If not Xmas cards are a great idea because it will be snowing/cold (most likely) and you can throw in something tropical to counter the cold with. :)
I would check Etsy for ideas on the STD if you haven't already.

THanks Ladies!

I posted my E-story on another thread - I will attach the link - hope this works!!!

Amelie - we have sort of picked Sandos Playacar Beach Resort and Spa, but until we do a site visit either this year or early next year - its kinda up in the air. I am basically 80% sure I want sandos based on what it offers my guests and the price is right....so heres to hoping it all goes well.

Ashley - I think we have time on our side - and it will be way less stressful. I am planning on sending out my STD's this JUly - now that puts my wedding 1.5 yrs away, but it gives them one full year to save bc the deposits need to go down around july aug next year. I am planning on sending out the official invites about 6 months prior to the wedding too. I like the Christmas card idea too.

I have been on this site since Aug 2009 and already have my OOT bags complete, hangover kits complete, welcome/meet the guest book started (only family right now), I bought my fans and ribbon, have my invites, have my dress, his wedding ring...phew! I think thats it! Thats enough! lol Anyways I dont think planning this far ahead is a detriment at all - let people think your crazy - atleast you wont be the bride at the end scrambling - you will be able to sit back and relax and enjoy the weeks leading up to your wedding.

I went thru the cinderella wedding back in 1999 and I vowed I would never do it again - no stress is the way to go let me tell you. Plan now, organize and start things now...you will be happier in the end.

Good luck!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
