Any 2012 brides out there?

Recommended Posts

Loving the amazing advice on the forum- but I feel like I am the only one with a super long engagement... I am hoping there are other brides on this forum getting married in 2012.

Josh and I are getting married on February 11, 2012

Hope I wont be the 2012 lone-wolf for long.

:)

Thanks! I got engaged in Late Feb 2010. Due to budget and Maggie's "vision" We are waiting 2 years so that both my FI and I have time to save and our guests have time as well. I do want to have my date and hotel done by the end of Summer 2010 though. I have been stalking this forum for about 2 months now and I think I have it down to a short list of resorts
Azul Sensatori
The Royal either PDC or Cancun
Aventura Spa Palace

you?

That's awesome! We just got engaged in December 2009 :) Josh is starting his masters this September and won't be done until 2012 so that is why we are holding off. That and as you mentioned, the saving.

We are hoping to book at the Excellence Punta Cana and want to send out our save the dates by the end of the summer (August-September). What dates are you looking at?

I would love to get my resort done by the summer then use 2010 Christmas cards to get the Save the Dates out. I am looking for a May 2012 wedding but my goal is to have formal invites with travel agent info to everyone by May 2011 - The problem then becomes that these resorts don't publish rates for the next year till later in the prior year! UGH

Yea!!!! I am so happy there are other 2012 brides out there!! We have a date, and a budget (somewhat) and that is about it. We are hoping for a site visit in November, and hopefully we will know so we can get our save the dates out by the end of the year. (I love the Christmas card idea). We are doing a long engagement so that I will be done with school when we get married. I love this forum, and I am so happy I have given myself a long time to plan because I am so overwhelmed with all of the details. What resorts is everyone thinking of? My favs are Dreams Riv Maya, Azul Sensarati, and Moon Palace, but am still considering others.

Hey Tiffany- we are no longer alone! Long engagements are the new black (lol)

Looks like you and Maggie are looking at some of the same hotels-That's exciting!

Maggie, your time lines sound awesome I think invites out by May 2011 for your wedding May 2012 is the way to go.

Have either of you ladies started looking at STD and invite options? There are amazing ones on Etsy. You can get great deals with some awesome designs done there.

:)

    • Hello, I'm new to this site. I got engaged already and get married by next year. I have some doubts regarding our dating destination. Hope you will help me. Thank You!
    • Hello everyone,
Well, this upcoming valentine's day is special for me because I got engaged and planning to spend the day with my fiance. I'm planning to give her an ethical jumpsuit.

Other than that I have been searching the internet for some nice discounted coupons and searched among my friends and found different sites. Now, we are looking forward to that wonderful day. We searched a lot and found out, Escape The City. Orangeville is a great place for a day trip or weekend gateway from Toronto.
Theatre Orangeville is offering a weekend package that includes 2 tickets to a Live performance at the theatre, Premium Overnight Accommodations at Best Western Plus Orangeville Inn and Suites and $75 Downtown Wine and Dine Voucher which is valid at select Downtown restaurants, and Free Entry to the scenic Trails & Bridges of Island Lake.

We are so excited and eagerly waiting for that day.
If anyone has got any other suggestions for the venue, kindly share your thoughts/ideas.
      Thank You!

    • Please tell me, the best wedding venue in Saskatoon, SK.
    • Hey everyone! Like the others here, I'm interested in wedding reception, venue and all related steps & stuff. Starting with my first and the most important note is that we're international couple and we need to think of bilingual wedding. So the first thing we need to think of is whether it will be interpretation or 2 different venue coordinators, sermons and stuff? What is your experience, what could be the best and affordable solution? From googling the issue I've found this Interactio app team ( describing possible solution here  http://blog.interactio.io/case-study-weddings )Basically they offer to hold the venue in the main language, additionally providing simultaneous interpretation online to other quest's mobile phones. Looks like really easy and creative idea. What about the others? How did you solve this kind of obstacle? Any additional advises would be very welcomed here
