I'm Hali!! Soon to be wed at Excellence on Jan 20, 2011 at 4:00pm. My wedding planner is Isyuney. There will be 7 guests attending my wedding (all of them family). We are going for simple, but reading all of your ideas makes me feel as though I'm going too simple.
I don't mean to sound tight or stingy when it comes to doing little extras for my guests, but this is mainly the reason for my wedding get away. I love the fact that you all have the knack for this, and really wish I did. I stress so easily and over think things. So really I'm trying to eliminate some stress for my FI. I guess I'm asking for someone to tell me it's okay not to go all out?!?
I'm going simple also. We have 7 family members 3 with photography and US.... : ) I'm not having a reception, I didn't have invites, and I'm not having a AHR. I did make some small oot bags. Just a few things in them. I also did rafia fans because it will be hot, and welcome letter. Thats about it. Other then chair sashes and a few decorations. I'm going simple. My thoughts about weddings is that they are all about what you want your day to be. Not what anyone else thinks : ) So if you want your day and planning to be stress free, make it simple... thats what I'm doing! : ) Good luck planning! : )

I found my dress!! The first dress at the first place:)!! I'm so excited..it's exactly what I wanted and expected. It is a bridesmaid dress in light ivory with a champagne ribbon around the empire waist. It was WAY cheaper than most wedding dresses that are the same style (under 300). So if anyone is thinking of that style def check out the bridesmaid dresses and just keep an open mind about the funky color they have.

I'm planning to travel as light as possible myself. While I love ALL the ideas for centerpieces, etc. on here, I just don't want to have to worry about packing all of those items. I'm hoping to rely on the island's natural beauty. I am contemplating ordering chair sashes, & I'll have my reception favors, sand brushes & some OOT bags but other than that, I'm trying my hardest to keep it simple.

Thanks Hali! Yes, I highly recommend contacting Pastor York. He was very helpful and friendly. He answered my questions quickly and I loved the sample ceremonies he sent to choose from.
His email is: [email protected]
This is the way I contacted him. Good Luck!

Hello all!  I'm getting married Jan. 30, 2011.  I have been in contact with Isyuney my planner a lot but have yet to actually decide upon anything.  We want to get married on the beach and that is all I have planned so far.  We are having about 27 guests.  Having the reception in the garden has been encouraged by the planner but I hate mosquitos and from the sounds of things there could be plenty of them.  Any advice on other dinner sites around the resort?  How about wedding favours that are easy to pack?  Also, our wedding has been scheduled for 5pm  will this be too late for photo's and such?  ahh so many questions......any advice is appreciated!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
