Hey Pam! Here is my group rate:

Toronto - Punta Cana
January 29, 2011
Majestic Colonial - Junior Suite - All Inclusive - 1 week
$1280.00 per person, based on double occupancy
Add $ 330.00 taxes per person
Plaza Premium Lounge Access - Applicable for your booking (you and your guests will be given passes to the Plaza Premium Lounge at Pearson Airport, Free!!)
Price Adjustment - If Sunquest reduces their group pricing, a request for a one time price adjustment can be made up to 60 days prior to departure.

So that is $1610 with taxes in for one week (Saturday departure). What did your Toronto guests get quoted? And what days will you be there? Hopefully we can still go for a cocktail one night! :)

Feb 1 Majestic Colonial bride:

bought the dress! It is a david's bridal dress that only arrived at the shop the day before. love it and now I need to figure out the rest of my ensemble.

My cousin has invited 10 other people aside from the 4 in her family I invited. All my seats are booked up so I'm worried about some of my local people having to pay more and hoping they call the TA soon.

Getting legally married in less than 3 weeks which will be exactly 6 months before our Punta Cana wedding so I'm hoping this means double the celebration and presents each year.

I am trying to keep it simple but the more I research the more things I want for my wedding. The OOT bags are over flowing and I am now reserving space in familiies luggage. I have heard of some bride bringing 8 rubbermaid cases with them but I think I will keep it down from that.

I want to make my own decor items so I'm trying to work with paper, fabric and battery candles to to make it work and not overstuff my luggage.

Happy planning everyone and I would love to see your projects.

my quote was a bit higher, but it is also the week before.

the problem with sunquest for me, is that we would all be arriving on different days (the 22nd, the 24th, the 25th) because i have three main gateways. OI!!

sooo...i still don't know what days we are going. Westjet from the 22-29 still seems like the best for everyone - but it just leaves me with only a day and a half after the wedding before we have to leave. sad.gif

Hello ladies!

We've been trying to book a date for Feb 2011 at the Majestic Colonial, however; we've been told  by our TA that the judge is completly booked throughout all of Punta Cana? sad.gif   Has anyone heard this?

She's trying to see if the resort only deals with one judge and if we looked at another resort, weather or not we'd have better luck.  We have our fingers and toes crossed that we'll hear some good news on Tues when she's back to work. Wish us luck!

I have heard that there is only one judge also.  Have you considered a symbolic ceremony, maybe?

We thought about the symbolic ceremony but decided it wasn't what we wanted.

So while we're waiting to hear back from our TA we have thought of a plan B and looked into other resorts in Cuba...We have heard only good things about Meila Varadero! and haven't heard of people getting sick, now that's a plus, lol...

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
