TonyandTricia's Moon Palace Review 02-26-10

Wonderful review! Congratulations, everything looked beautiful.

Just a question about your hair, I thought it looked great. I want to go with a similar style. However, how does your hair normally hold up in heat? I am kind of nervous, that my ideas of "beachy waves" will just fall flat.

My hair is horrible in any heat and humidity!!! It usually frizzes right up. The plus side was that it was February so it wasn't as humid as summer. At my AHR my hair was similar and it poured rain all day long and my hair held great. I'm guessing due to the product she used. For the AHR she used Sebastian Re-Shaper as a hairspray. In Mexico it held great too and she used Sexy Hair hairspray. I also used Moroccan Oil on my hair when I was in Mexico and sprayed a little bit of the Sebastian re-shaper on it before I straightened it everyday and it seemed fine pretty much the whole time.

I have a question about your flowers. We are also talking about taking our, I am worried about the color pink they have not matching everything else we are taking with us. My aunt does flowers, so it works out perfect to take our own. My question is...where did you get the little starfish that is in your flowers? I love that and I would like to find one to use in mine!!!

The starfish is from the forum!! Search for the Starfish Passing Thread. It was my something borrowed. My guests loved it and kept commenting on it.

Honeymoon – Excellence Playa Mujeres B-
Just a word about our honeymoon spot…it was absolutely beautiful!! But also very expensive ($700/night!), food wasnâ€t as good as moon palace, slow service, and far away from things if you wanted to do any excursions. We enjoyed our time there, but wonâ€t go back.

Overall, we are sooo happy with how everything turned out. It was definitely the wedding of our dreams!!

The videographer was from Moon Palace too. I forgot to list that on the add-ons at the end. I'm thinking the price was maybe around $360?? It was nice and they added in the songs that we had during the ceremony.

Thats good to know the dress getting pressed was only $35....did you organise this before you went or onsite?
Onsite. You just take it to your appointment with your WC and they deliver to your room the day of your wedding.

Thanks! Yes, I had a different one for the disco. I just went to the bridal shop where I got my dress (Mia's bridal in KC) and ordered a bridesmaid dress in white! That was the cheapest way that I found and it was hard to find a short white dress in the winter! I think the brand was Di Vinci.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
