Moon Palace Wedding Coordinator Questions

Recommended Posts

We did not book through a TA but me and my guests just booked directly with MP through the group link provided. I think the price of the hotel room combined with airfare, my guests paid for about 1500-1600 so not that too far off.

Here are a list of my questions and answers from the WC I hope this helps....

1. Can my wedding qualify for the 1500 Vacation dollar promotion?

This promotion will be replacing the Passport Promotion and other promotions to add additional benefits for the guests.

2.Does the bride and grooms room count towards my 25 group bookings or is it bride and groom plus 25 bookings?

Yes, the room and room nights count.

WC Answer: No, we do not need a new contract. All reservations are being converted to the new promotion.

3.Are round trip airport transfers included?

The wedding groups receive a discounted rate for the transfers. They are $10.00 round trip, per person. To book the transfers:

You may complete the transfer reservations in two ways:

1. Online at: http://www.palaceresorts.com/BookOnline.asp

Click on: ** REQUEST TRANSFERS**

2. Write an email to the address below, including reservation number and flight information

Just an FYI for anyone that would rather have the Cancun symbolic ceremony before getting legally married in your hometown...

I had noticed in in one place in the Palace Resorts Wedding materials I was given it said that for a Symbolic Ceremony it was the responsibility of the couple to get married in their hometown pre/post travel (even though in the paragraph before it says you need to bring your marriage certificate with you). I was a little uncomfortable with getting married beforehand because I kind of felt like I was deceiving my guests in Cancun since I would already be married (especially since my parents know we are planning a symbolic ceremony, but we hadn't told FI's parents). So I asked my WC if we could get married in our hometown after the Cancun wedding, & she said that was fine.

I would definitely clear it with your WC, but since I've cleared it with my WC, I'm going to get married legally once we get back home.

I guess the ladies may know the answer to this, but I noticed in the Moon Palace contract that any rooms booked through alternate sources or online will NOT count for the credit for free cocktail hours, etc. However, several brides have used TAs, in fact, Southernsweetie, I contacted your TA, to help their guests.

My question is, do you get credit for the rooms if your guests utilize a TA?

You can still get credit. My FMIL is my TA and she just did a wedding at ASP in November and it didn't matter if it was booked through her or the link they provide, they all count. If anyone books through the website and not your own link, you TA should be able to contact MP and have them moved over to your group.

With my TA, not only do you get credit for the rooms (free events with a certain number of rooms booked), but the agency also throws in some extra freebies as well. The agency's freebies are strictly for the bride & groom and are also dependent on the total amount of rooms booked - including the bride and groom's room. They include things like a Palace Resorts robe for the B&G, room upgrade to concierge level for the two of you, and a list of other things. It is my understanding that my guests' rooms will qualify for the free stuff (events included) only if my guests book through the same entity/source.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
