Moon Palace Wedding Coordinator Questions

Recommended Posts

I read in the fine print that the packages provide travel agents with a 20% commission, does this mean our guests must book through a specific agency?

Also, past brides have mentioned a Palace Passport included in their reservations for free guest excursions and discounts on spa, golf, etc. Is this promotion still valid?

We have a TA who is handling the reservations. So I guess it depends if you are using a TA or if you are just having everyone book through Moon Palace directly.

Before we got our contract the website stated that there would be a $100 credit for spa services and golf and certain free excursions. In 2009 the credit was for $150. That was one thing our TA check on and in our contract they offered us the $150 credit instead of $100 for all of our guests who book through our group.

Any of your guests who stay 3 nights or longer are entitled to the Palace Passports Promotion which gets them free tours, discounts, etc. The current promotion can be found here:Receive a Palace Passport a value of up to $1000.00

They may change the promotion from year to year, but it usually has similar perks.

Yes the Palace Passport to Savings is still valid. In addition, they had a Free Kids Summer promotion where children 12 and under stay free. This really helped a lot because I have lots of children in the wedding entourage. This is only valid though if you stay three nights or longer. It includes unlimited excursions to Chichen Itza which is what I am doing for my guests. All you have to do is provide transportation but MP can also assist you with that.

The free tours are for all guests (not just wedding guests) that stay 3 nights or more at any Palace hotel. They give you all the information upon check-in (or I'm sure you can ask them about it ahead of time too). The booking enough room nights is only applicable to the free wedding stuff.

Have guests know that some of the free tours will offer to add on stuff like ATV tours or horseback rides that do cost extra. Moon Palace is very close to the Zip Line excursion but some of the others like Tulum Ruins and Chita Inza (sp?) take almost the full day by the time you drive there, spend time and drive back. If you want to tan, it ruins most of your time in the sun.

I've also read that you should inform your guest to sign up for the tours on arrival to the resort. There is supposedly a special desk in the lobby for this. The free tours have limited numbers - depending on which on you choose - and they fill up quickly. I plan to include this information for our guests in our newsletter and on our website closer to our wedding date.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
