Playa del Carmen - Must See/Do

Recommended Posts

In PDC I just loved Fusion at night ! They have this venue on the beach, it's so great ! They usually have a band and there are fire dancers about 10 pm - band and fire dancers were there every time we went by ! See the site here for pics and program :

It's very easy to find, it's at the end of calle 6 (on the beach).

We also went to Alux, it's a very special experience as it's a restaurant located in a cenote !!

Also check tripadvisor !! Always a good resource wink.gif

We actually were in PDC for only one night during our site vist 05/7 - 05/10. We ate at Playasia on 5th ave on Saturday May 8th. It has a cool atmosphere inside the restaurant but the food was not good, my FI, myself and my mom all got sick from eating here and were sick for two weeks after. Do yourself a favor and pick another place.

We went there May 9th! The food was great and the Mayan coffee was really cool (I know it's kind of cheesy/touristy, but always need to see flaming coffee!)

Really liked Xel ha. Great day trip...lots to do. Bike, hike, swim, snorkel, lazy river, lots of space to lounge and relax. Food was excellent. All inclusive-activities, food and alcohol. Some pay for service activities like swimming w/ dolphins. Hammocks all around the property (we bought one). FYI-most sunscreen not eco friendly so they hold it for you and give you packets of eco friendly brand. Overall great take.

Alux looks incredible. It will be a fanstastic backdrop for your wedding!

I had not heard of it before. I'm definitely going to stop by when we do our site visit in July. Maybe we'll do a rehearsal dinner or welcome party there!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
