2pm in May too hot ceremony?

Recommended Posts

My FI didn't want us to spend the extra $400 charge for a later time - "sunset time" so the hotel said 2pm is the only other time available besides 10am.

ceremony is on the beach so I'm concerned we all would be baking in the sun.

i really don't want to be a pain and try to justify the extra spending because we could use it towards favours, invites or something.... he's been so good with everything so far, and this is 1 of the few things he's asked, that we save this extra bit of money.....

should be okay, righthuh.gif

....what will guests do between ceremony and reception, after photos.....?

WOW, people in Mexico amaze me.... Interesting that they are now capitalizing on the "preferred" ceremony start time.

Without a doubt, its hot. Our seasonal guide will help a little.

We would suggest to change the time to later in the day. Mid day weddings will result in people squinting and the lighting is a tad harsher. If possible, go for the later time, it will be a better plan :)

good luck,
mateo

I hope you ended up choosing 6pm. By the way, I posted a good tidbit of info about your hotel Gazebo location here...fyi:

I planned a 2pm in Mexico in Aug and expect it to be blazing hot. You only have to stick it out for 20 mins, and I did buy sandlewood fans for my guest (cheap for OT) which should be appreciated. I'd move it to a cooler time but I think it's nice to be able to enjoy breakfast and not have to get up at the crack of dawn for a marathon of spa services. Just easy and relaxed for your big day.

I think it'll be really hot too! The money you save on not having the reception at 4pm, you'll just end up spending on a cocktail hour and champagne toast to entertain your guests. If you have a 4pm ceremony then you can go directly to dinner afterwards.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
