Fast Food Addiction

Thank you for all of the wonderful advice ladies, I need to start having more self control, and holding out on my cravings, it is just so hard. I have pasted pictures of models wearing wedding dresses all over my house for some motivation, but sometimes the cravings get the best of me.

It is tough!

I love creamy coffee drinks.... cappuccino's...mocha latte's... (300+ calories) yikes!!!

Cutting them out totally was a HUGE struggle...

Ive recently discovered the Special K Mocha cereal bars...only 90 calories and they taste super yummy so when Im really craving that chocolate/coffee taste they are fantastic!! Love them!!!

My biggest weakness is Mexican food. I try to make it for myself at home with grilled onions, peppers, and mushrooms in quesadillas instead of all of the greasy stuff from the restaurants or at Taco Bell. Not quite the same, but it is still delicious!

Try Pop Chips ! delicious and not fried - nor baked for that matter - so much less fat !! I love them !

as crazy as it sounds, after the "withdrawl" phase the cravings seem to be less often.

i've tried replacing fast food burgers & fries with homemade burgers and mccain low fat superfries (baked) to control some of the damage. worked so far.

but sometimes those darn TV commercials.....

  • 2 weeks later...

It has to be lots of self control. scheduling your time better to pre-prepare meals so that you aren't stuck in a last minute fast food drive thru situation.

It takes time. Old habits die hard but you can kill them. after a while you wont crave it anymore. sometimes you may not even be able to look or smell at another fast food menu.

I used to eat FF 3x's a day for all my meals. gained over 30lbs. But then my doctor gave me my triglyceride levels and weight. that was an eye opener. so was that movie Super Size Me. yikes!

But now we pre prepare our meals, we eat fresh foods. Of course we still go out to dinner but no more mashed potatoes n fries, I opt for grilled veggies and water with lemon.

again, lots of self control. but YOU CAN DO IT!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well things have been going well, I have been doing good. FI brought home Wendy's last night, I could have killed him. But the good thing is is that it has been almost two weeks since I have eaten any fast food, and when I tried to eat the Wendy's, it grossed me out too much. Plus, I didn't want to undo all of the work that I have done in the last two weeks, so I took it and threw it in the garbage and told him not to bring that crap home anymore!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
