Gift ideas for a special sister

Recommended Posts

Hello all.. I could use some suggestions.

My sister is my one and only attendant in my wedding.. and by far my best friend in the WORLD! I want to get her something very special as a thank you.. and I need some suggestions. I had thought a locket with a picture of the 2 of us growing up, but she has 2 very little girls.. and has a locket of them.

Any help would be appreciated!!!monkey.gifmonkey.gifmonkey.gif

How sweet! IMO for cases like this you need a personalized gift, or at least one component of the gift should be. You can make anything you want these days, these always stood out if my mind but after my bm's pissed me off I didn't order them then by the time I wasn't mad anymore it was too late...lol

This site has some nice personalized gifts to choose from. Maybe if she's into jewelery it would be cool to give her a necklace or bracelet with the birthstones of both of you along with her two girls. Also.....sometimes people like time together more than gifts....perhaps plan a weekend away to a spa....or something for the two of you to spend time together. You could then present it to her with some nice spa products, slippers, monogrammed robe....etc. Just an idea.....pinkie.gif

my favorite BM gift (& I've gotten a lot of them) was a little leather photo album. It had pictures of me & the bride being silly together with funny sayings on the page next to the picture. Each BM got a different one. I started working on making these for my future BMs right after that wedding. I scanned a bunch of picutres & had 100 prints made. I'm not going to have BMs now, but I'll still make the albums. I've done the hard part already, might as well finish it.

I also am only having my two sisters (Matron of Honor and Maid of Honor.) The three of us are VERY close and I too am thinking of getting them some very nice jewelry as their gifts. I kind of like the idea of jewelry since it's something they will have forever and always remember where they got it.

I think the ideas the girls already mentioned are great. I always wanted something from Tiffany, Cain said he was going to buy me something for our wedding gift but then we decide not to exchange gifts. So I'll wait for another holiday to get it. :-)

That's what I'm getting my sisters too...the silver necklace with the initial charm. They would NEVER buy themselves Tiffany's, so I think it makes it special.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
